Tuesday night I’m rolling into the Strat (7pm) on the Strip to cover opening night of the Ikons of Rock, new residency — already nominated for Best Tribute Show in the long‑running Las Vegas Review‑Journal Best of Las Vegas Awards. I caught their earlier run at their previous venue, and trust me, that version was a straight‑up winner! Now I’m fired up to see how hard they hit in their new home at the Strat.

Then comes the weekend madness — I’ll be all geared up to cover a full‑throttle “Welcome Back Home” eruption on Friday, August 28th at 9:30 PM inside the Orleans Hotel Showroom. 

Petty and The Heartshakers are roaring back into Las Vegas with the kind of heat that only Tom Petty (aka Dan Grennes) can bring! This isn’t just a return — it’s a neon‑soaked, amps‑wide‑open homecoming built to shake the walls, rattle the Orleans Showroom, and light up the night. And I’ll be planted right in the blast zone when that first chord hits like a fireball racing down Tropicana Ave!

As August wraps up, Las Vegas is firing on all cylinders — from the Ikons of Rock launching their brand‑new residency at the Strat on Tuesday, to the long‑awaited homecoming blast of Petty and The Heartshakers this Friday inside the Orleans Showroom. 

Two powerhouse shows, two stages lit in neon, and one city that never stops roaring.
