Honoring Las Vegas Kings Head Coach Chris Wallace — A Leader, A Mentor, And A True Friend

Today, my blog is about one very remarkable human being, Chris Wallace.

Leader in our community, a role model to our youth, a mentor of many, and a figure held in high regard.

And the head coach of our Las Vegas Kings Arena football team.

Today, the King's family celebrates not just a coach, but a remarkable human being. Head Coach Chris Wallace has become the steady force behind the Kings. A mentor who teaches far more than football. His tireless dedication to guiding young men, both on and off the field, has shaped lives, strengthened character, and built a culture rooted in respect, discipline, and heart.

Coach Wallace’s love for his community is unmistakable. Whether he’s coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or simply showing up for people who need him, he leads with humility and purpose. His players look up to him. His staff trusts him. And those who know him — truly know him — understand how rare it is to find someone who gives so much of himself without ever asking for anything in return.

So today, we honor the man behind the whistle.

Happy Birthday, Coach Chris Wallace. You’re an incredible leader, an inspiration to everyone around you, and an awesome person that I’m proud to call a friend.

{My Take}

"Chris Wallace Makes Me A Better Man." Thank You, Chris!

Rock Roll And Red Zone: The Las Vegas Rockers Are Bringing A New Beat To Vegas Sports !

While looking through the daily sports and entertainment news, AP and UPI lines. I happened on the Las Vegas Rockers, an expansion team this year, making their debut in the International Arena League (IAL).

I've written a ton of sports and music in my career. But to mix music and football together, what a cool idea, so I decided to read on and research the Rockers and write them up, and to send it on to the Worldwide Sports Network, and to publish it here on my blog.

Arena football has always been the rebel cousin of the gridiron family — faster, louder, closer, and unapologetically fan‑first. In 2026, no team embodies that spirit more than the Las Vegas Rockers, the newest high‑octane franchise electrifying the International Arena League (IAL). With a home base at the Orleans Arena, a growing fan movement, and a league built for speed and spectacle, the Rockers are positioning themselves as one of the most exciting sports stories in Las Vegas!

The Rockers aren’t just another expansion team — they’re a brand engineered for the city they represent. Their identity blends rock‑and‑roll swagger with arena‑football grit, creating a game‑day experience that feels part concert, part sporting event, and all Vegas. Turn up the volume!!

The team’s 2026 schedule at the Orleans Arena features matchups against international and domestic opponents, including the Pennsylvania Benjamins, Stuttgart Stallions, Arizona Juggernauts, Cincinnati Slingers, and Utah Great 8’s.

From the moment fans walk in, the Rockers deliver a sensory overload: booming music, high‑energy intros, and a field so close you can feel the hits. It’s football without the filters — I've been around arena football for over 10 years now, and professional sports since 1968. All I can say is that Vegas fans are going to love the Rockers!

The Rockers are part of the International Arena League, a growing global organization redefining what arena football can be. The IAL blends American indoor football traditions with an international footprint, modern production values, and a commitment to fan engagement.

The league’s mission is simple: fast games, fierce competition, and a fan experience that rivals major entertainment productions. With teams across multiple countries and a 2026 season that promises expanded visibility, the IAL is positioning itself as the next major player in alternative professional football.

Fans can expect:

  • High‑scoring games thanks to the smaller field and rapid‑fire pace

  • International matchups that bring new styles and strategies

  • Enhanced fan access, including meet‑and‑greets, behind‑the‑scenes content, and interactive events

  • A league built for digital audiences, with streaming‑friendly game formats and global reach.

The team has already announced partnerships, fan events, and meet‑and‑greets at the Orleans Arena, building a community around the franchise before the first kickoff.
(Home schedule up top 2nd picture)

Game days feel like a hybrid of:

  • A rock concert

  • A sports showdown

  • A Vegas‑style entertainment production

It’s the kind of immersive experience that fits perfectly into a city where entertainment is King!

{My Take}

In a city built on energy and spectacle, the Rockers are ready to make every snap feel like a headline moment, turning each game into the kind of high‑voltage experience Vegas audiences live for. And as the International Arena League continues to grow its global footprint, Las Vegas looks poised to become one of its brightest, loudest stages — a place where the sport’s future can shine just as boldly as the lights on the Strip!

Flex Work Sports Slide Out Academy Brings Big‑Time Football Energy To Henderson Nevada March 14, 2026

HENDERSON, Nev. — Presented by PANINI

Youth football in Southern Nevada gets a major boost this spring as Flex Work Sports Slide Out Academy hosts its 2026 youth football camp on Saturday, March 14, bringing NFL talent, elite coaching, and members of our Las Vegas Kings together for an afternoon built to inspire the next generation of athletes.

The camp runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Liberty High School in Henderson, Nevada, and is open to boys and girls ages 6–16, offering young players a rare chance to learn from pros who’ve lived the grind, played under the lights, and know exactly what it takes to elevate their game.

Flex Work Sports has built a reputation for connecting young athletes with real‑deal football minds, and this year’s lineup continues that tradition. NFL players will be on hand to coach position groups, run drills, and share the kind of insight you can’t get from YouTube clips or highlight reels.

Adding to the star power, members of the Las Vegas Kings arena football team will join the coaching roster, bringing their trademark intensity and Vegas swagger to the turf.

For many kids, this will be their first chance to meet the players they cheer for on game nights — and to learn directly from the pros!

Whether a young athlete is lacing up cleats for the first time or already dreaming of Friday‑night lights, Slide Out Academy’s coaching format meets them where they are at.

The afternoon includes:

  • Position‑specific instruction for quarterbacks, receivers, running backs, linemen, and defensive backs

  • Speed and agility training designed to build confidence and improve fundamentals

  • Live reps and competitive drills that simulate real‑game situations

  • Motivational talks from NFL veterans and Kings players about discipline, teamwork, and mental toughness

The camp’s mission is simple: give every kid a chance to grow, compete, and walk off the field better than they arrived.

Flex Work Sports has carved out a special place in the Southern Nevada sports community. Their Slide Out Academy events emphasize mentorship, character, and opportunity — values that resonate with families, coaches, and young athletes across the valley.

Hosting the camp at Liberty High School, one of the region’s most respected football programs, only adds to the atmosphere. Parents can expect a safe, organized, high‑energy environment where their kids are encouraged, challenged, and celebrated.

Are There Different Levels Of Rock Stardom In The Music Business?

I know that sometimes I use the term "Rock Star" out of context. Even loosely on occasion. I believe I use the word Rock Star as a show of respect to musicians that work their butt's off in the biz, then show their talents on and off of the stage.

After a few phone conversations and a ton of research. Here is what I learned about calling a musician a Rock Star.

So, are there different levels of being called a Rock Star?

Absolutely! Rock stardom isn’t a one-size-fits-all thing—it comes in different levels, depending on factors like fame, influence, longevity, and cultural impact. Here are some general tiers of rock stardom:

Local & Regional Heroes

These are musicians or bands that have a strong following in a particular city or region.

They might pack local clubs and festivals but aren’t well-known outside their area.

Example: A killer Van Halen tribute band that dominates the local scene!

Cult Legends

Bands or artists with a small but extremely devoted following.

They may not have mainstream success but are highly respected within their genre.

Example: Frank Zappa, King Crimson, or underground metal bands like Sleep.

Mid-Level Rock Stars

These musicians had some hits and strong fan bases but never reached full-blown superstardom.

They often had a few successful albums but didn’t dominate an era.

Example: Tesla, Night Ranger, or even Extreme. (I tend to differ on these examples)

Arena Rock Stars

Bands and artists who regularly sell out large venues and have multiple well-known songs.

They may not be household names for everyone but are huge in rock circles.

Example: Def Leppard, Journey, or even newer bands like Alter Bridge.

Iconic Rock Gods

The legends who changed the game and have a massive, enduring impact.

These are the bands that sell out stadiums worldwide and have songs everyone knows.

Example: Van Halen, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica.

The Immortals

The absolute top-tier, once-in-a-lifetime rock gods.

Their influence goes beyond just music—they define entire generations.

Example: Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and yes, Eddie Van Halen himself!

What level do you think is the most interesting? Or which level do you think a tribute band can reach?

Las Vegas Kings Set For Their Season Opener And A Fans Guide To Arena Football

What an awesome weekend of football. Not the NFL version of outdoor football! But the fast-paced version of professional arena football. I spent the entire weekend at the Las Vegas Kings Training Camp as they prepared for the upcoming 2025 Arena League Season.

I've been writing and taking photos with the Las Vegas Kings organization since their inception in 2016.

By the looks of what I saw this past weekend in training camp. Led by Head Coach Chris Wallace,

The Kings will be fielding a fast-paced offense, along with a crushing defense that will turn heads in arena football this year!

"To this journalist. This year's Kings are bigger, faster, stronger, and meaner than ever"

GE

In my blog this past Saturday, I talked about The Kings gearing up and making preparations for their scrimmage against the Arizona Bandits in Phoenix Arizona this upcoming Sunday. < Read Blog Here >

Many times, in my sports articles and blogs. I'm asked numerous questions about the game of Arena Football.

Here's my fan's guide to Arena Football.

(Rules may vary across different leagues)

To me, Arena football is a faster-paced, more high-scoring version of American football played indoors on a smaller field. It has unique rules and strategies that differentiate it from traditional outdoor football.

Field Size: 50 yards long with 8-yard end zones, about half the size of an outdoor field.

Team Size: 8 players per side (compared to 11 in outdoor football).

Scoring: Similar to standard football—touchdowns (6 points), extra points (1 or 2 points), field goals (3 points), and safeties (2 points).

Kickoffs: The ball is kicked from the goal line instead of the 35-yard line. Rebounds off the nets are live.

Motion Rules: One receiver can move toward the line of scrimmage before the snap (unlike outdoor football, where motion is restricted).

Walls & Nets: The field is surrounded by dasher boards (like hockey), and kicks can rebound off end-zone nets, making the game more unpredictable.

Downs: 4 downs to advance 10 yards, similar to traditional football.

Overtime: Usually one possession per team, with a chance to match or outscore the opponent.

Pass-heavy Offense: Due to the small field, teams rely on quick passes and deep shots.

High Scores: Games often have scores in the 50s or 60s.

Closer fan experience due to small arenas.

Opportunities for players to develop and move to higher leagues.

There you have it. My fast-paced Fans Guide to Arena Football.
