FlexWork Sports SlideOut Academy Delivered A Super Bowl‑Level Youth Football Experience For Southern Nevada’s Next Generation of Football Players!

 HENDERSON, Nevada — Saturday, March 14th, 2026

Saturday afternoon at Liberty High School felt like the heartbeat of youth football in Southern Nevada as FlexWork Sports SlideOut Academy hosted its 2026 youth football camp — a high‑energy, high‑impact event that brought together over 330 boys and girls ages 6 to 16 for an unforgettable day of development, mentorship, and pure love for the game.

From the opening whistle, the field buzzed with movement as campers rotated through eleven 11‑minute stations, each designed to sharpen a different part of their athletic foundation. Speed bursts, footwork ladders, cone agility, mobility circuits, endurance challenges, and eye‑hand coordination drills kept every athlete engaged and pushing their limits. The afternoon also featured passing and route‑running stations, giving young players a chance to build timing, confidence, and technique in real football scenarios.

A Super Bowl Experience

Professional Coaching

Leadership

The Professional Setting

What made this camp truly special was the level of coaching on the field. Three of the NFL’s most dynamic playmakers —

— spent the afternoon teaching, motivating, and connecting with the kids. Their presence turned routine drills into once‑in‑a‑lifetime moments, and their hands‑on coaching gave young athletes a glimpse into the mindset and work ethic of true professionals.

Adding to the star‑studded lineup, Las Vegas Kings head coach Chris Wallace, Mike Gelato, Kenneth Jones, Dimitrius Vargas, and TreA'vonii Page, were on the turf all afternoon, guiding players through stations, offering encouragement, and bringing that signature arena‑football intensity. Their involvement grounded the event in the local community and showed young athletes that the path to greatness can start right here in Southern Nevada.

By the time the final station wrapped and the last huddle broke, one thing was clear: every participant walked off the field with something meaningful. For some, it was a new skill. For others, a spark of confidence. For many, it was a deeper love for football — or the realization that they belong in sports.

Events like this don’t just build athletes; they build futures. And on this Saturday afternoon in Henderson, Nevada, more than 330 young boys and girls took a step toward theirs.

{My Take}

What an experience! An A-plus sports event, an A-plus football camp!

A Super Bowl‑Level Thank You

A special thank‑you goes out to Luther Jones, FlexWork Sports, SlideOut Academy, Panini, and every professional player and coach, volunteer, parent, and partner who poured their time and energy into this event. Their commitment transformed a Saturday afternoon into a Super Bowl‑style experience for more than 330 young athletes — the kind of day they’ll remember long after the cleats come off.

Klint Kubiak’s High‑Risk High‑Reward Bet On The Struggling LV Raiders

Since moving to Las Vegas in 2020, the Raiders have had 5 full-time head coaches as of February 2026, following the hiring of Klint Kubiak, new head coach for the LV Raiders' upcoming 2026 NFL football season.

Not only have the Raiders gone through their share of head coaches in recent years, but they also have the distinction of having the worst win-loss record this past season!

Fresh off a big Super Bowl 60 win this past Sunday, from a fan's view, and mine.

What is Klint Kubiak thinking, taking the Raiders Job?

Honestly? He’s thinking exactly what every ambitious coordinator who just won a Super Bowl thinks: this is the moment to strike. And the Raiders—chaotic, impatient, star‑driven, and desperate for stability—are offering him something he wasn’t going to get in Seattle anytime soon: his own franchise to run.

Why Kubiak Believes This Is the Right Move

He’s riding a Super Bowl high — and that’s leverage

Fresh off coordinating Seattle’s championship offense, Kubiak is the hottest name on the market. He confirmed during the postgame celebration that he was heading to Vegas, saying he was “fired up about it.” When your stock is at its peak, you cash in.

The Raiders are giving him something rare: time and control

The Raiders have churned through a handful of head coaches since moving to Vegas in 2020, but this time, they’re committing to the long term. He’s getting a five-year deal, signaling the franchise wants stability and is willing to let him build.

He gets to mold the future with the No. 1 overall pick

The Raiders are expected to draft Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza, the 2025 Heisman winner. Kubiak’s offensive background makes him the architect of that development. That’s a career-defining opportunity.

He can bring his own staff

Reports suggest he may bring Seattle assistants with him—Andrew Janocko on offense, Aden Durde on defense. That’s a chance to recreate the system that just won a Super Bowl title.

----------

But Let’s Be Real: This Job Is a Minefield

Maxx Crosby wants out

Your best player is unhappy and reportedly wants to leave. That’s a nightmare for any new coach.

The Raiders’ instability is legendary

Multi-head coaches since 2020. Constant resets. A fan base that demands instant results. He’s stepping into a storm.

Expectations are sky-high

Vegas wants a winner now, not in three years. A rookie QB plus a rebuilding roster is a tough sell.

----------

So, What Is Klint Really Thinking?

Something like this?

“If I’m ever going to take a big swing, this is the time. I just won a Super Bowl. I’m getting a long contract. I get the No. 1 pick. I get to build my own program. If I can turn the Raiders around, I become a legend.”

It’s risky. It’s bold. It’s very Raiders! And for a 38-year-old coach with momentum, it’s the kind of gamble that can define a career.

----------

In the end, Klint Kubiak isn’t running from the chaos—he’s embracing it. He sees a franchise desperate for direction, a fan base starving for relevance, and a rare chance to build something from the ground up with full control and a franchise quarterback in waiting. It’s a gamble, no doubt, but Kubiak is betting that his moment is now and that Las Vegas is the place where he can turn potential into legacy!

Good Luck!

Congrats on your new head coaching adventure!

And Welcome To Las Vegas!

Super Bowl 60 Showdown: Why The Seahawks Hold The Statistical Edge Over New England

With just three more days till the Seahawks clash with the Pats, it's time for me to pick a winner!

Super Bowl 60 brings us a heavyweight rematch more than a decade in the making: the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots meeting again on the NFL’s biggest stage. Both teams arrive at Levi’s Stadium with identical 14–3 records, elite defenses, and quarterbacks who’ve caught fire at the perfect time. But when you dig into the numbers, one team holds a clearer edge.

Seattle’s Case: Efficiency, Balance, and Playoff Precision

Seattle enters this matchup as the slight betting favorite —and the stats explain why.

Key Advantages

  • Sam Darnold’s playoff surge: A stunning 4:0 TD–INT ratio while completing 69%+ of his passes in both postseason games. That efficiency against top‑tier defenses (49ers, Rams) signals a quarterback playing the best football of his career.

  • Clutch scoring: Seattle put up 31 points on the Rams in the NFC Championship, showing they can finish drives under pressure.

  • Balanced attack: Kenneth Walker III remains a late‑game closer—Madden’s simulation even projects him scoring the game‑winner in a tight contest.

Why It Matters

Seattle’s offense isn’t explosive—it’s efficient, mistake‑free, and built to complement a defense that forces opponents into long, grinding drives.

New England’s Case: Defense, Discipline, and a Rising Star QB

The Patriots’ turnaround under Mike Vrabel is one of the season’s biggest stories. They’ve won with toughness, situational mastery, and a defense that’s been nearly impenetrable.

Key Advantages

  • Elite playoff defense: New England has allowed just 8.7 points per game through three postseason matchups—an absurd number in the modern NFL.

  • Drake Maye’s poise: The rookie QB has guided the Patriots to their 12th Super Bowl appearance, showing maturity beyond his years.

  • Weather-tested resilience: Their AFC Championship win in harsh conditions proved they can win ugly when needed.

Why It Matters

If New England controls tempo and forces Darnold into long third downs, they can drag this game into the kind of defensive slugfest they thrive in.

The Deciding Factor: Quarterback Efficiency vs. Defensive Dominance

This matchup comes down to one question:

Can Seattle’s efficient, turnover‑free offense crack a Patriots defense that’s been historically stingy this postseason?

  • Seattle has the more consistent quarterback play right now.

  • New England has the better defense, but they haven’t faced an offense this balanced in the playoffs.

  • Both teams can run the ball, but Seattle’s late‑game explosiveness gives them a slight edge.

{My Take}

Super Bowl 60 delivers a matchup rich with history, strategy, and razor‑thin margins—but the numbers help separate hype from reality. Seattle’s postseason efficiency, Darnold’s mistake‑free surge, and a balanced offense built for late‑game execution give the Seahawks a measurable advantage over a Patriots team powered by defense and discipline. New England will make them earn every yard, but the statistical trends point toward Seattle having just enough firepower and composure to finish the job.

“New England’s defense will keep this one tight, but Seattle’s offensive flow and red‑zone precision ultimately make them the stronger pick to raise the Lombardi.”

Between you and me. This game could go either way! We'll see :-)

NFL Championship Sunday: Two Games One Road To Super Bowl Sixty

Championship Sunday always carries a certain vibe, but this year’s matchups feel especially cinematic! Four teams remain, each with a distinct identity, a defining flaw, and a storyline worthy of a Hollywood arc.
Tomorrow, the AFC and NFC crowns will be decided in Denver and Seattle, setting the stage for Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara.

 AFC Championship

Sunday, Jan 25th @ 3:00 pm ET - 12:00 pm PT

New England Patriots at Denver Broncos

Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, CO

The Storylines

  • Denver enters this game without starting QB Bo Nix, who was lost for the season after the Broncos’ dramatic 33–30 OT win over Buffalo. Backup Jarrett Stidham now carries the weight of the franchise.

Key Statistics

  • Broncos as home underdogs: Denver is +4.5 at home, a rare position for a No. 1 seed.

  • Total points line: 42.5, signaling expectations of a defensive, grind-it-out game.

  • Defensive identity: Both teams rank among the league’s top defensive units, setting up a low-scoring, field-position battle.

Matchup Analysis

Denver’s defense is elite, but losing Nix fundamentally changes their offensive ceiling. Stidham is capable, but the Patriots’ defense thrives on forcing mistakes from inexperienced quarterbacks. New England’s offense isn’t explosive, but it’s efficient enough to win a possession game.

My Pick: Patriots Win

New England’s defensive discipline and Denver’s quarterback situation tilt this matchup. Expect a tight, physical game where the Patriots capitalize on one or two key turnovers to punch their ticket to Santa Clara.

NFC Championship

Sunday, Jan 25th @ 6:30 pm ET - 3:30 pm PT

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Lumen Field at Seattle, WA

The Storylines

  • A pure NFC West showdown—these teams split their two regular-season meetings straight up and against the spread.

  • The Rams arrive hot after a dramatic 20–17 overtime win in Chicago, which sent them to their first NFC title game since 2021.

  • Seattle, the No. 1 seed, has been one of the conference’s most balanced teams all year.

Key Statistics

  • Seattle is favored by 2.5 points, with a total of 46.5—oddsmakers expect more scoring here than in the AFC matchup.

  • Both teams boast top-tier defenses, but the offenses are more dynamic than their AFC counterparts.

  • Third meeting of the season: familiarity tends to tighten margins and amplify coaching decisions.

Matchup Analysis

The Rams have momentum, swagger, and a knack for late-game execution. But Seattle at home in January is a different animal. Their defense is built to limit explosive plays, and their offense—while not always flashy—has been consistently efficient.

The Rams’ path has been impressive, but asking them to win back-to-back road playoff games in hostile environments is a tall order.

My Pick: Seahawks Win

Seattle’s home-field advantage, defensive versatility, and ability to control tempo give them the edge. Expect a close game, but the Seahawks’ consistency wins out in the fourth quarter.

My Super Bowl Sixty Matchup:

New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks

A clash of defensive titans, coaching chess matches, and two franchises with deep postseason DNA.

If tomorrow plays out as expected, we’re headed for a Super Bowl dripping with narrative weight—and the kind of stylistic contrast that makes the sport irresistible.

{My Thoughts}

As the stage sets for tomorrow’s doubleheader, the margins shrink and the stakes sharpen. Four teams enter with belief, but only two will earn the right to chase immortality in Santa Clara. Whether it’s defensive grit, late‑game poise, or one perfectly timed break, Championship Sunday always reveals who’s built for the moment.

By tomorrow night, the Super Bowl 60 (Sixty) matchup won’t be speculation—it’ll be reality, and the league’s final chapter will officially be underway!

Fines Demotions And Firings Just Ain't Enough: The Bears And The Bills Sitting At Home This Weekend

Fines, demotions, and firings aren’t enough. Those are just cosmetic punishments; they don’t fix the structural problem, and they don’t help the teams that got burned in real time this past weekend! If the NFL actually wanted fairness, competitive integrity, and accountability, it would need system‑level reforms, not scapegoats (Officials).

Here’s what would actually move the needle.

🏈 1. Centralized Replay Authority With Full Power

Right now, New York can “advise,” but the on‑field crew still controls too much. A real fix would be:

  • A centralized officiating command center with final say on all reviewable plays

  • Authority to correct obvious errors, even if a coach can’t challenge

  • Real‑time communication with the broadcast so fans understand the ruling

This removes ego, confusion, and inconsistent interpretations.

🏈 2. Make All Officials Full‑Time Employees

The NFL is a multibillion‑dollar league. Its officials should not be part‑timers.

Full‑time officials would mean:

  • Year‑round training

  • Mandatory film study

  • Standardized grading

  • Offseason clinics

  • Accountability tied to performance metrics

Right now, the league treats officiating like a side gig. That’s insane for a sport this big!

🏈 3. Expand the List of Reviewable Plays

Some of the worst calls — DPI, roughing the passer, catch/no‑catch — are judgment calls that swing games.

A fair system would allow:

  • Automatic review of all turnovers, scoring plays, and OT plays

  • Coach challenges on ANY play, including penalties

  • A “sky judge” who can buzz down instantly when something is clearly wrong

If the technology exists, use it.

🏈 4. Transparent Grading and Public Accountability

The NFL hides officiating grades like state secrets. That secrecy protects the league, not the teams.

A fair system would publish:

  • Weekly officiating grades

  • Explanations for controversial calls

  • Crew rankings

  • Assignment logic for playoff games

Sunlight fixes a lot of problems.

🏈 5. Remove Crews From the Playoffs if They Blow Calls

Right now, officials with bad games still get playoff assignments because of seniority or politics.

A fair system would:

  • Bench crews immediately after major errors

  • Promote younger, sharper officials

  • Reward accuracy, not tenure

This is how every other performance‑based job works.

🏈 6. Add a “Correctable Error” Rule

If a call is obviously wrong — even outside the rulebook’s current review structure — the league should be able to fix it on the spot.

Think of it like the NBA’s “trigger” system or MLB’s replay center.

This prevents disasters like:

  • The Rams–Saints NFC Championship no‑call

  • The Dez Bryant catch

  • The Bills–Broncos and Rams–Bears inconsistencies you’ve been calling out

When the whole world sees the mistake, the league should be allowed to fix it.

🏈 7. Independent Oversight, Not NFL Self‑Policing

Right now, the NFL investigates itself. That’s why nothing changes.

A fair system would include:

  • An independent officiating review board

  • External audits of controversial games

  • Public reports on findings

This removes the conflict of interest!

🎯 Bottom Line

If the NFL truly cared about fairness, it would overhaul the system — not just fine a ref or quietly reassign a crew. The league has the money, the technology, and the visibility to fix this. What it lacks is the will.

Four Games One Truth: No Favorites Are Safe In This Weekend's NFL Divisional Round

Click on the picture to enlarge

The Divisional Round is now locked in, and it’s a killer slate. All four matchups are officially set after Wild Card Weekend, and every one of them has a storyline baked in!

AFC Matchups

Buffalo Bills at Denver Broncos

  • Buffalo comes in hot after upsetting Jacksonville.

  • Denver is the AFC’s top seed with a week of rest and a defense that’s been closing out tight games all year.

  • Oddsmakers have this as the closest matchup of the round — Bills favored by just –1.5 at some books.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots

  • Texans rolled over Pittsburgh 30–6 to punch their ticket.

  • New England is riding the Drake Maye wave after beating the Chargers and finishing worst‑to‑first in the AFC East.

  • Patriots are slight favorites at –2.5.

 NFC Matchups

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

  • San Francisco knocked out the defending champion Eagles despite losing George Kittle to an Achilles injury.

  • Seattle is the NFC’s top seed and enters on a massive late‑season surge.

  • The Seahawks are favored by 7.5, the biggest spread of the round.

Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears

  • The Rams handled Carolina to advance.

  • Chicago pulled off a wild comeback against Green Bay to earn the home game.

  • The Rams are slight road favorites at –3.5.

Divisional Weekend always separates the loud from the legitimate, and this year’s field is built for drama. Every team that remains has a path, every matchup has a hinge point, and every fan base can convince itself of a Super Bowl run if it squints just right. By Sunday night, the bracket will be carved down to four — the ones who handled the moment instead of getting swallowed by it. January doesn’t care about résumés. It rewards execution, toughness, and the teams that refuse to blink when the season hangs in the balance!

The NFL’s TV Titans: The Five Teams America Can’t Stop Watching

When I say, "America's (NFL) football team", who do you think of? In their glory years, the Dallas Cowboys owned the title! Because of their visibility on TV. And for their success in the NFL.

But after quite a few years finishing down in the standings, have the Cowboys relinquished their America's team title to another foe in the NFL?

Surprise!

Based on national TV audience data and viewership rankings from the sources available, the Dallas Cowboys have consistently been the most‑televised and most‑watched NFL team over the past several seasons.

  • The Cowboys routinely appear in the top national TV windows (Sunday Night Football, late‑afternoon FOX games, Thanksgiving) — the highest‑rated slots in the league.

  • The 2025 Thanksgiving game, featuring the Cowboys, drew 57.2 million viewers, the largest regular-season audience ever.

  • League‑wide viewership reports confirm that the NFL’s biggest national windows overwhelmingly feature the Cowboys, regardless of record.

 Top Five Most‑Televised NFL Teams

(Last 5 Years)

1. Dallas Cowboys

No team comes close to their national exposure.

  • They anchor FOX’s national window almost every week.

  • They consistently deliver the biggest regular‑season audiences, including the 57.2 million‑viewer Thanksgiving game in 2025.

  • They appear in more national windows than any other franchise year after year.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes turned them into a prime‑time machine.

  • Multiple deep playoff runs and Super Bowl appearances keep them in the national spotlight.

  • Chiefs games frequently land in the top‑10 most‑watched broadcasts each season (supported by league‑wide viewership growth trends).

3. Philadelphia Eagles

A massive national fanbase + NFC East scheduling = constant TV exposure.

  • The NFC East is the most televised division in football.

  • Eagles games regularly rank among the most‑watched matchups in annual ratings reports (reflected in national viewership studies like those cited in 2024–25 season breakdowns).

4. Green Bay Packers

Even in transition years, they remain a national draw.

  • Decades of national popularity keep them in prime‑time slots.

  • Packers games consistently appear in the top national windows, supported by long‑term viewership trend data across seasons.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers

A legacy franchise with a coast‑to‑coast following.

  • The Steelers remain one of the most nationally broadcast teams due to their massive fanbase and competitive consistency.

  • They regularly appear in NBC’s Sunday Night Football rotation, which is the league’s highest‑rated weekly slot (supported by league‑wide viewership growth patterns).

 Why these five teams dominate

  • National fanbases that extend far beyond local markets

  • Prime‑time reliability — networks know these teams deliver ratings

  • Consistent playoff contention (Cowboys, Chiefs, Eagles, Steelers)

  • Historic brand value that keeps them in marquee windows

In a league built on spectacle, storylines, and national reach, these five franchises have become the NFL’s most reliable television engines. Their games anchor prime‑time schedules, drive record‑setting audiences, and shape the weekly rhythm of football in America. Whether it’s star power, historic brand weight, or simply the gravitational pull of winning, these teams have spent the last five years living where every franchise wants to be — in the brightest lights, on the biggest stages, with the entire country watching!

Are the Dallas Cowboys still America's team?
You be the judge.

Who’s Hot Who’s Not: The Real Temperature Of The 2026 NFL Playoffs

This year’s NFL playoffs arrive with a clear divide between the teams catching fire and the ones limping in. Seattle and New England are the hottest teams in football, riding dominant late‑season surges — the Seahawks have won seven straight and 11 of 12, while the Patriots have ripped off 13 of their last 14. Denver enters as the AFC’s top seed (With an 11-game win streak), and with clutch one‑score wins and a breakout year from Bo Nix. On the other hand, Chicago and Green Bay qualified for the postseason despite uneven finishes, and Carolina enters as the lone team with a losing record at 8–9, making them the coldest team in the field by far. With traditional powers like Kansas City and Baltimore missing entirely, the bracket feels wide open — but the momentum clearly belongs to Seattle, New England, and Denver.

{My Take}

As the bracket locks in and the pressure spikes, this year’s playoffs feel like a collision course between momentum and desperation. The teams riding hot streaks look poised to dictate the early rounds, while the colder squads are hoping a reset button exists somewhere in Wild Card Weekend. But that’s the beauty of January football — reputations melt fast, underdogs get loud, and one unexpected spark can flip the entire postseason on its head. No matter how the matchups shake out, this year’s road to Super Bowl LX promises drama, volatility, and the kind of storylines that football fans live for!

NFL Football What Makes More Sense: Win Lose Or Draw?

 {Professional Sports}

If you watched the Dallas Cowboys versus the Green Bay Packers last night on Sunday Night Football, you'll probably agree that the game last night seemed like it could have gone on well beyond the official sixty minutes of play, plus the ten-minute overtime. Seventy minutes and call it a draw!

So, are tie games good for us fans? Are tie games good for the morale of the teams?

Are tie games good for professional football?

Last night's 40–40 shootout between the Cowboys and Packers was pure chaos, both teams trading haymakers and field goals in overtime. It’s no wonder fans are asking whether the NFL should rethink its overtime rules.

Current Rule:

  • Regular-season OT is 10 minutes.

  • Each team gets a possession unless the first team scores a touchdown.

  • If the score is still tied after 10 minutes, the game ends in a draw.

Arguments for Change:

  • Fans want closure: A game that intense deserves a winner. A tie feels anticlimactic for the teams as well as for us fans!

  • Playoff implications: Ties can muddy standings and playoff seeding, making outcomes harder to predict.

  • Momentum matters: Teams like Dallas, who clawed back late, might feel robbed of a chance to finish the job.

Arguments against Change:

  • Player safety: Extending overtime increases injury risk, especially in a brutal sport like football.

  • Strategic depth: Ties force teams to play smarter during regulation, knowing they can’t rely on OT heroics.

  • Tradition and fairness: The current format ensures both teams get a shot, unlike the old sudden-death model.

{Here are my Overtime thoughts}

The Cowboys-Packers clash last night was a barnburner, 40–40 and still no winner? It’s like watching a rock concert end mid-guitar solo. The current NFL overtime rules in the regular season can feel like a letdown after a game that intense. My best two cents about ending an NFL game with a tie like last night is to put in place a college-style shootout involving a tie. The game continues until a winner is crowned! < Rules > Or play the game until the first team scores! Safety, Field Goal, or TD. The End!

My Look At The Las Vegas Raiders 2025 Season: The Good And The Not-So-Good Things That I See

The Silver and Black enter the 2025 NFL season with plenty of intrigue. Raider Nation always has high expectations, and this year is no different. But while there are clear signs of progress, there are also lingering concerns that could hold the team back.

The Good:

1st, I like the new head coach, Pete Carroll, a lot! Enough said.

FYI: Remember, I was ghostwriting the Cowboys during the Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer head coaching eras. And yes, I believe head coaches do make a big difference in teams' winning (Or losing) ball games!

The Raiders’ defense looks sharper and more aggressive, anchored by Maxx Crosby, who continues to play at an elite level. The secondary has shown improvement with stronger coverage and better depth, giving the unit more balance than in recent years. Offensively, the run game has been steadier, giving the team more balance and taking pressure off the quarterback. And I like Geno Smith a lot at QB! His experience and leadership is a big plus to the Raiders!

There’s a new sense of belief that this roster can compete with anyone on any given Sunday. We'll see on opening day, September 7th, when the Raiders take the field to battle the New England Pats!

The Not-So-Good:

The biggest question mark remains consistency at quarterback. Flashes of talent have been there, but turnovers and missed opportunities continue to haunt the offense in key moments. Will Geno Smith be the answer? I think he will. The offensive line still struggles against top-tier pass rushes, making sustained drives harder to come by. On top of that, the Raiders face a tough AFC West, where every divisional game feels like a playoff battle. To truly rise, they’ll need to turn those close losses into wins!

{My Take}

The Raiders of 2025 are a team on the verge; they have the talent to make noise, but whether they become a true playoff contender or just another middle-of-the-pack squad depends on solving their offensive inconsistency. Raider Nation has waited a long time for a breakthrough, and this season just might be the one that shows which direction the franchise is truly heading. To the playoffs would be nice!

How The Vegas Golden Knights Stack Up Against Other Professional Sports Teams In Their First Eight Years

The Vegas Golden Knights have had one of the most impressive starts for an expansion team in modern professional sports history. Who would have thought "Ice Hockey In The Desert"?

This year is no different.

The Vegas Golden Knights have secured the Pacific Division title with a 50-22-10 record (110 points) and are set to face the Minnesota Wild in the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs this Sunday night (April 20th) in Las Vegas.

With only missing the playoffs 1 time in their team history in the 2021-2022 season.

No other major North American professional sports expansion team has had a comparable level of early success to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Here is a look at the Golden Knights and other professional sports franchises that have had comparable starts in professional sports.

Vegas Golden Knights (NHL, started in 2017)

First 8 seasons (2017–2025):

  • 1 Stanley Cup win (2023)

  • 2 Stanley Cup Final appearances (2018, 2023)

  • 6 playoff appearances

  • Never had a losing season

  • Consistently competitive and relevant

Comparable Starts in Pro Sports

Edmonton Oilers (NHL, joined NHL in 1979 after WHA merger)

  • Had Wayne Gretzky, which helped tremendously

  • 1 Stanley Cup Final appearance in year 4 (lost in 1983)

  • First Cup win in year 5 (1984)

  • 2 Stanley Cups in first 8 NHL seasons

  • But they brought a solid roster from the WHA, unlike the Golden Knights who started from scratch

Baltimore Ravens (NFL, established 1996 from Browns' move)

  • Super Bowl win in year 5 (2000 season)

  • 2 playoff appearances in first 8 seasons

  • Solid defense-focused identity early on

Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB, founded 1998)

  • Won World Series in 2001 (year 4)

  • 3 playoff appearances in first 5 years

  • Built quickly with big acquisitions like Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling

Chicago Fire (MLS, founded 1997)

  • Won MLS Cup in inaugural season (1998)

  • US Open Cup wins in 1998, 2000, 2003

  • 3 major trophies in first 6 seasons

Why Vegas Stands Out

  • No prior roster or league history (unlike Oilers or Ravens)

  • Immediate and sustained success

  • Made the Stanley Cup Final in their first season, which is unheard of

  • Built a championship team without tanking or long-term rebuilding

Very few teams across all North American pro leagues have been as successful in their first 8 years (seasons) as the Vegas Golden Knights.

{My Take}

In just eight seasons, the Vegas Golden Knights have gone from expansion question mark to championship gold standard. With a Stanley Cup, multiple deep playoff runs, and a passionate fanbase that’s made hockey thrive in the desert, they've redefined what it means to be the new kid on the block. If this is just the beginning, the rest of the NHL should be on notice—because the Knights aren’t just here to play. They're here to win.
