A Double Dose Of Andrew Freeman This Weekend: Def Leppard To Preaching The Gospel of Rock n' Roll

{My Spotlight Today}

Last In Line. Great White. The Offspring. DIO Rules, Lynch Mob. Raiding The Rock Vault. That's just part of the musical trail blazed by Andrew Freeman. Whether he's commanding the stage, laying down tracks in the studio, lending his voice to major projects, or collecting honors as a Rock Godz Hall of Famer, Freeman brings the kind of talent and versatility that few can match. Singer, songwriter, producer, voice-over pro, and all-around rock 'n' roll powerhouse, he's the real deal.
Simply put, what a ridiculously talented dude!

I know this has been one heck of an introduction, but Andrew Freeman has earned every word of it.
Just last week, I watched him bring the house down in Raiding The Rock Vault.

Tonight, he's swapping arenas of classic rock history for full-throttle Def Leppard firepower as he takes the stage with Pyromania Def Leppard Tribute Band at the Tuscany Suites' Copa Room.

This Sunday, October 25, Andrew Freeman will once again step behind the microphone to preach the gospel of rock 'n' roll at 3 p.m. in the Tuscany Suites Copa Room.

For local rock fans, it doesn't get much better than this. In a city where most performers are lucky to connect with audiences in one great show, Freeman gives fans the rare opportunity to experience multiple sides of his musical personality on local stages. One night he's channeling the arena-rock energy of Def Leppard; another he's delivering the message of Rock n' Roll, saves the soul!

That's the beauty of following Andrew Freeman in Las Vegas. You're not just seeing the same performance repeated night after night. You're watching a world-class vocalist, songwriter, producer, and performer reinvent himself from stage to stage, while bringing the same passion, power, and authenticity every time he steps into the spotlight. For fans, it's like getting an all-access pass to one of rock's hardest-working and most versatile frontmen, right here in their own backyard. 馃馃帳馃敟

Has Las Vegas Just Told Visitors They Don't Have to Tip: Why These New Strip Signs Have Locals Talking

{My 2 Cents}

Las Vegas has always been a town built on tips. Long before the mega-resorts, celebrity chefs, and billion-dollar sports franchises arrived, gratuities were part of the city's DNA. Cocktail servers, bartenders, dealers, bellhops, valet attendants, musicians, and street performers have all depended on that extra show of appreciation to make a living. In a city where customer service is king, tipping has never really been a rule. It's been an unspoken understanding between visitor and worker.

Now, that tradition is getting a modern-day reality check. Digital signs popping up along the Strip reminding visitors that "Tips Are Not Mandatory for Strip Performers" may be legally accurate, but they send a mixed message in a city famous for rewarding great service. While the intent may be to prevent aggressive solicitation or clarify the rules for tourists, some locals see it as another chip taken out of the culture that helped build Las Vegas.

The bigger question is whether these signs will influence visitor behavior. For many tourists, especially those coming from countries where tipping isn't customary, the message could easily be interpreted as, "Don't tip." Others may simply take it as permission to keep walking without reaching for their wallet after stopping to enjoy a performance, pose for a photo, or experience the unique street entertainment that gives the Strip part of its personality.

Will it become a deterrent to tipping altogether? Probably not. Visitors who appreciate talent and good service will likely continue to reward it. But there's little doubt the signs could reduce gratuities from casual tourists who were already on the fence. In a city where thousands of workers and performers count on those dollars every day, even a small drop can add up fast.

Las Vegas has spent decades branding itself as a place where people come to dream big, live large, and reward unforgettable experiences. The concern among many locals isn't really about the signs themselves. It's about what message they send. In a town known for generosity, hospitality, and taking care of the people who make the magic happen, some are wondering if the powers that be are accidentally teaching visitors that appreciation comes free of charge.

Because in Las Vegas, the greatest performances have always deserved an encore... and traditionally, that encore came with a tip. 馃幐馃幇馃挼

BYOB Children Of The Korn & Smashing Alice: Vegas Crowd Magnets That Pack The House!

Today, I'm digging through fan mail, blog comments, and Facebook messages, and one comment jumped off the screen louder than a Marshall stack cranked to 11. It came from Craig, a die-hard music fan, a BaDD-A$$ drummer in our local music scene, and one cool dude. Craig fired off this observation about my blog post yesterday: Read it < Here >

"If you're really plugged in to the so-called scene, you would have heard from the people that own the Tuscany that BYOB and Children Of The Korn and Smashing Alice pack that room more than anyone, every single time."

First things first. The blog I wrote yesterday was based strictly on the stats from that particular week, not an all-time scoreboard. And yes, I know all three bands Craig mentioned. More importantly, all three have proven time and time again that they can put bodies through the front door and keep crowds coming back for more. So, let's shine the spotlight where it belongs.

Band Page

BYOB has become one of those bands that Vegas rock fans circle on the calendar the moment a show is announced. Bringing the power, energy, and attitude of System Of A Down to the stage, they don't just perform songs, they launch an all-out assault on your senses. The band's loyal following is no accident. They've earned every fan one thunderous performance at a time, packing venues with people who know exactly what they're getting: a high-octane night of controlled chaos and heavy-hitting rock.

Band Page

Then there's Children Of The Korn, a tribute that captures the raw intensity, groove, and aggression that made Korn one of the biggest names in nu-metal history. From the moment they hit the stage, the crowd is locked in. Heads start banging, fists go in the air, and the energy level skyrockets. Their shows aren't just concerts; they're gatherings for an entire tribe of fans who refuse to let the spirit of nu-metal fade away.

Band Page

And let's not forget Smashing Alice, a band that continues to build a reputation for delivering hard rock with conviction, attitude, and authenticity. Their performances connect with audiences because they're fueled by a genuine love of the music and a determination to leave everything on the stage. Every time they roll into a venue, they bring a crowd that's ready to rock, and they never leave disappointed!

The bottom line? Las Vegas is loaded with great bands, but these three have earned their place in the conversation. They've built loyal fan bases, consistently draw strong crowds, and remind us why the local rock scene is alive and kicking. So the next time BYOB, Children Of The Korn, or Smashing Alice lands on a local bill, quit scrolling, grab your friends, head to the venue, buy a ticket, and support live music. These 3 bands are bringing the noise!

Check out their links below their Band Pics, mark your calendars, and get yourself to a show. There's nothing like experiencing these bands live, where the lights are blazing, the amps are roaring, and the energy hits you right in the chest. Support the local scene, support live music, and discover why BYOB, Children Of The Korn, and Smashing Alice continue to pack rooms and keep Vegas rock fans coming back for more. Trust me, this is one concert recommendation you don't want to scroll past. 馃馃敟馃幐

The Next Wave Of Vegas Rock: Who's Hot Right Now?

I'm up early (5am) as usual, checking on the Las Vegas music scene.

What National News Media Entertainment Stats Show

(Monday, October 19, 2026)

These bands are currently out front of the local LV music scene, being featured in venue spotlights and promotional campaigns highlighting Vegas-based talent. As seen across the US. Setting on top this past week in the LV Local Music scene:

As someone who's spent decades covering the Vegas scene, I'd keep an eye on Count's 77, Heroine Honey, Chasing Light, and The Bones. These bands seem to be catching that sweet spot where local musicians are getting both venue support and social media traction!

On the harder side of Vegas rock, the Tuscany's Copa Room and Hard Rock Cafe have become ground zero for discovering who's drawing crowds and building real momentum among Las Vegas Music Venues.

Raiding The Rock Vault came roaring back to Las Vegas this past week, with what I called a welcome-back-home party for Real Rock, Real Rockstars back to our local music community! Their next show hits next month on Saturday, November 28th at the Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas Strip.
I say that Las Vegas needs this show back home to be a complete Rock 'n' Roll city!

That's it for what bands, shows, and venues are stirring up the entertainment scene in LV! Keep up the good work and keep on RAWK'N!

This Weekend's Las Vegas Rock Radar: Three Shows You Don't Want to Miss!

As part of my new gig, I occasionally pass along local weekend travel tips to newspapers and magazines, and for airlines travel brochures, spotlighting the bands and shows lighting up Las Vegas. Here are the artists and performances that made my list for this weekend. 馃幐⚡

Click for info & Tickets

Tonight (October 15), Raiding The Rock Vault storms back onto the stage at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip, delivering exactly what its longtime fans have come to expect: Real Rock, Real Rockstars. This isn't your average tribute show. It's a powerhouse celebration of rock 'n' roll history, performed by musicians who have lived it, played it, and helped write it. Packed with classic anthems, blazing guitars, and enough energy to shake the walls, Raiding The Rock Vault brings together veteran performers with credits that read like a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame playlist. If you're looking for one show that captures the spirit, sound, and swagger of rock's greatest era, this is where your weekend should begin. 馃馃幐馃敟

It looks like the Copa Room inside Tuscany Suites gets the weekend nod. Friday night, City of Evil returns to the stage for a full-throttle tribute to Avenged Sevenfold, delivering two complete sets packed with the band's biggest fan favorites. Adding to the fun, the night doubles as a pre-Halloween bash, giving concertgoers the perfect excuse to break out their spooky, wild, or downright outrageous costumes. Best of all, admission is free and the event is open to all ages, making it a great choice for both die-hard Avenged Sevenfold fans and anyone looking for a high-energy night of live music. If you're searching for heavy riffs, pounding drums, and a room full of fellow rock fans, the Copa Room is the place to be Friday night. 馃馃幐馃懟馃敟

Wild Child Wasp Tribute

Click for event information

Closing out Saturday night, High Priest brings its signature brand of sonic brutality back to the Tuscany, and they're not coming alone!
Joining the assault is Wild Child Wasp Tribute, adding another dose of raw power to an evening built for fans who like their music loud, heavy, and unapologetic. Expect crushing riffs, thunderous drums, screaming guitars, and enough headbanging energy to rattle every table in the room. This is the kind of show that reminds you why live rock and metal continue to thrive in Las Vegas. If you're looking for a gentle evening, keep walking. But if you want to end your Saturday night with a full-scale rock-and-roll beatdown, High Priest and Wild Wasp have your marching orders. What a brutal way to close out the weekend.

{My Take}

From legendary rock anthems on the Strip to Avenged Sevenfold favorites and a Saturday night metal assault at the Tuscany, this weekend proves once again that Las Vegas is far more than casinos and neon lights. For music fans, it's a city with a new soundtrack every night.
Get out, support live music, and make a few memories before Monday comes calling.

I know I am! 馃馃幐馃敟

The Art Of Filling Seats In Las Vegas Music And Entertainment Venues: How Four Slow-Selling Shows Turned Into Packed Houses!

Today's blog is all about filling seats. When I commit to a band's gig, a live show, or a special event, I don't just roll in, watch the action, and head for the parking lot. I become part of the machine that helps put bodies in the room. Before the lights go down and the first note explodes from the stage, I'm already out there promoting the event, pushing it across my blog and social channels, and making sure fans know what's coming.

But promotion isn't just about making noise. I'm watching the numbers. I track every view, every click, and every location where my promo posts are gaining traction. The real story isn't just who sees the promotion, it's whether those eyeballs are turning into ticket sales.

Today's focus is on what catches my attention when I'm writing those pre-show promos. What makes fans stop scrolling? What details create buzz? What pushes someone from "maybe" to "I'm buying a ticket"? That's the game. Because a packed house doesn't happen by accident. It happens when the right message reaches the right people at the right time, and the seats start filling up long before the band hits the stage. 馃幐馃敟

Rock Bottom Line: Great shows deserve great crowds, and every promo is another shot fired in the battle to fill the room.

Casino entertainment managers, music venues, bars, and clubs all promote their shows. That's a given. But after nearly 58 years of watching this business from the front row, backstage, the press pit, and everywhere in between, I've learned one thing: not all promotion is created equal.

Some venues fire off a few social media posts, hang a couple of posters, and call it a day. Others attack the mission like they're selling out an arena. They build momentum. They create buzz. They make fans feel like missing the show would be a mistake they'll regret the next morning.

I've seen great bands play to half-empty rooms because the promotion was weak. I've also seen average acts perform in packed houses because somebody behind the scenes understood how to get people off the couch and through the front door.

That's where my two cents come in.

When I'm writing a pre-show promo, I'm not interested in simply announcing that a band is playing on Friday night. Anybody can do that. I want to know what makes that show worth seeing. What's the hook? What's the story? What separates this gig from the dozens of others competing for a fan's attention this weekend?

Because at the end of the day, filling seats isn't luck. It's strategy. It's effort. It's understanding your audience and giving them a reason to spend their hard-earned money on live entertainment.

And from what I've witnessed over the decades, the venues that consistently fill rooms are usually the ones that understand a simple rock-and-roll truth:

You can't just advertise a show. You have to sell the experience. 馃幐馃敟

So far, so good.

To make a long story short, the last four shows I promoted and wrote about all seemed to be crawling when it came to ticket sales. The buzz was there, the talent was there, but the seats weren't filling as fast as anyone hoped.

But after decades of covering entertainment in Las Vegas, I know this town plays by its own rules.

Vegas is a tourist city packed with choices. On any given night, visitors and locals can pick from major headliners, tribute acts, local bands, comedy shows, sporting events, casino attractions, and countless other distractions. Because of that, many people don't decide where they're going until the last minute.

So, I trusted my Vegas instincts.

On the day of each show, I dropped one final reminder. Not a complicated campaign. Not a flood of posts. Just a timely reminder that the show was happening that night.

Then showtime arrived.

Packed house.

The lesson was impossible to miss.

In Las Vegas, last-minute decisions aren't the exception. They're the norm. People often pull the trigger just hours before the curtain goes up. That's why timing can be every bit as important as promotion itself.

So, here's my media gift to anyone trying to fill seats:

It's not just how much you promote your event. It's when you promote it!

You can spend weeks building awareness, but sometimes the post that matters most is the one that hits fans right before they're deciding what to do tonight.

After nearly 58 years in this business, that's one Vegas lesson I've seen play out over and over again.

Fill the seats, create the urgency, and never underestimate the power of a well-timed reminder.

Because in Las Vegas, today's "maybe" often becomes tonight's sold-out crowd!

Bottom line... empty seats don't buy tickets. If you're promoting a band, a concert, a club, a casino showroom, or a special event and need help getting the word out, let's talk. Drop me a message on Facebook Messenger, and I'll show you what I can do to help fill the room. We'll discuss your goals, pricing, and a promotion strategy designed to put more people in the house when showtime arrives.

Lessons Learned From Years Of Playing And Writing About Slot Machines In Las Vegas

I spend my share of time in the casinos playing poker, blackjack, and slots. Over the years, I've learned a few lessons, won a few bucks, lost a few bucks, and watched plenty of players do both. So, for what it's worth, here are a few of my personal tips on how to play nice with the one-armed bandits, better known these days as penny slot machines.

While there's no magic formula for beating slots, there are ways to make your bankroll last longer and give yourself a chance to walk away a winner. The biggest tip I can offer is simple: have a plan before you sit down. Set a budget, stick to it, and don't let the excitement of a bonus round convince you that the next spin is guaranteed to be the big one. Treat slots as entertainment first and profits second. If Lady Luck decides to smile on you, take the money, run, and don't look back! After all, the casino will still be there tomorrow, waiting patiently for another shot at your wallet. 馃槈馃幇馃挵

Starting with $100, one of the best ways to stretch your bankroll is to choose penny slots or low-denomination machines and keep your bets modest, usually between 50 cents and $1.50 per spin. Rather than chasing big jackpots with large wagers, a disciplined player can focus on preserving their bankroll and taking advantage of longer playing sessions. Many experienced recreational players set win goals and loss limits before they begin. For example, if that $100 grows to $200, they may decide to cash out and call it a successful day rather than risk giving the winnings back to the casino.

Another key to making a hundred dollars last is to avoid increasing bets after a losing streak. Every spin is independent, and there is no guarantee that a machine is "due" to hit. Taking advantage of casino rewards programs, free play offers, and complimentary promotions can also help add value without increasing risk. While doubling your money is certainly possible on any slot machine, the smartest approach is to play for entertainment, manage your bankroll carefully, and recognize that walking away with any profit is a win. The players who tend to have the most enjoyable casino experiences are often the ones who know when to cash out and head home ahead of the game.

{My Take}

As someone who considers himself an educated slot player, having played for many years and written slot machine strategy and tips for numerous publications, I can tell you that even experienced players make mistakes. Sometimes the bright lights, the excitement of the casino floor, and that natural human desire to win money can cloud our judgment. I've done it myself. I've found myself chasing losses when I knew better. The truth is that discipline is every bit as important as knowledge when it comes to playing slots.

If your goal is to play slots and give yourself the best chance of walking away a winner, keep it simple. Bring only that C-note, your ID, and your player's card into the casino. Leave your ATM card in the car or at home so you're not tempted to dip into additional funds. Take it easy on the drinks, stay focused, and set a win goal and a loss limit before you sit down. Most importantly, know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. Know when to stay, and know when to leave. If luck happens to be on your side, cash out and head for the door with a smile. Hopefully, you'll leave a winner. Good luck!

In A City Full of Entertainment: The Ikons Of Rock Continues to Shine Bright At The Strat Las Vegas!

Since returning to National News Media management, one of my primary responsibilities has been keeping my eyes and ears on the music and entertainment scene here in my hometown of Las Vegas, while also spotlighting the many positive things happening throughout our city. Today, one Strip production stands out in my mind above many others. It's a show that not only entertains audiences' night after night but also serves as a perfect example of what it takes to thrive in one of the most competitive entertainment markets on the planet. Here's the story behind this amazing show.

Let's face it, this is Las Vegas. The Entertainment Capital of the World is packed with superstar residencies, blockbuster productions, sold-out concerts, comedy shows, sporting events, and enough bright lights to be seen from outer space. Every single night, visitors and Vegas locals alike have countless options competing for their attention. So how does a venue rise above the noise and convince people to choose its show over the hundreds of others happening across the city? The answer is simple. It has to offer more than just another performance. It has to deliver an experience that people can't stop talking about.

The venues that consistently win the battle for ticket sales are the ones that create something unique. Whether it's jaw-dropping production, audience interaction, larger-than-life performances, or unforgettable moments that leave fans buzzing long after the final encore, the goal is to give people something they can't find anywhere else. Value also plays a huge role. Not everyone wants to spend a fortune on a night out, and smart venues understand that. Affordable ticket prices, easy parking, comfortable seating, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere can be just as important as what's happening on stage.

Word-of-mouth remains one of the most powerful forces in entertainment. A great show review, enthusiastic social media posts, viral videos, and fans telling their friends, "You've got to see this!" can generate the kind of buzz that money simply can't buy. The most successful venues also know how to create personal connections. Fans remember performers who take the time to sign autographs, pose for photos, shake hands, and show genuine appreciation. Those moments transform casual attendees into loyal supporters who return again and again.

Just as importantly, successful venues recognize that tourists are only half the audience. Vegas locals are the backbone of the city's entertainment community. While visitors may see a show once during their vacation, local residents have the potential to become long-term supporters, attending multiple events throughout the year and spreading the word throughout the community. By offering local discounts, special promotions, and consistently presenting quality entertainment, venues build a loyal following that helps keep seats filled year-round.

{My Take}

In a city overflowing with world-class entertainment choices, being good simply isn't enough. To truly stand out in Las Vegas, a venue must deliver excitement, value, personality, exceptional customer service, and an atmosphere that makes every guest feel like they're part of something special. The shows that thrive in this town aren't just performances. They're events. They're experiences. They're memories in the making. And in a city where every marquee is fighting for attention, those are the moments that keep tourists booking tickets and Vegas locals coming back for more! 馃幐馃帳馃敟

With all of that said, one show that truly stands out in Las Vegas is the Ikons of Rock at the STRAT. Delivering powerhouse performances, nonstop energy, and the kind of excitement that keeps audiences talking long after the final curtain call, this is a show that's earned its place among the city's must-see attractions. Check out their social media, and you'll quickly see what all the buzz is about. Better yet, grab a ticket and experience it for yourself. My Shout-Out To Rahway's Wrecking Machine: Locked Loaded And Ready To Bring Total Chaos To The Las Vegas Dive Bar On November 13!

First off, I owe a massive debt of gratitude to my rock brothers in the Rahway Band family — the whole wrecking crew — for the killer words and the early‑morning shout‑out about my blog!
When Rahway fires off a nod, it’s not just a mention… It’s a nuclear explosion. Their support hits like a power chord to the chest, and getting love from a band that lives and breathes pure hard‑rock voltage means everything to me! Thank You Much!

My history with the band.

I first witnessed Rahway’s full‑scale, weapons‑grade badassery in May of 2024 inside Count’s Vamp’d Las Vegas, and brother, that night didn’t just rock… it blew out the power in half of Las Vegas!
Count's Vamp’d wasn’t just a rock venue; it was a pressure cooker seconds from blowing its lid!

Rahway rolled in alongside The Garden Of Eden, and The Bullet Boys band; the whole place lit up like a neon‑soaked battlefield. Three bands. One stage, with zero survivors!

Rahway didn’t “take” the stage — they stormed it like a chrome‑armored shock unit. Their guitars came in swinging with drop‑tuned, asphalt‑grinding riffs that felt like a demolition crew tearing through the Strip at 3 AM. Distortion didn’t just bloom; it erupted in radioactive colors, splashing the room in molten reds, electric blues, and toxic greens. The drums hit with sledgehammer brutality; each strike a seismic event that rattled every soul in the building. And the vocals? A feral, flame‑tipped roar that sliced through the mix like a chainsaw dipped in jet fuel.

Garden Of Eden brought the fire. Bullet Boys brought the legacy. And Rahway brought the massive shockwave that night! The kind of nuclear blast that makes the lights flicker, the bartenders freeze, and the crowd surge like a tidal wave of fists, sweat, and adrenaline! It wasn’t a concert that night, it was a hard‑rock supernova ripping open the night sky and dumping pure chaos onto the Las Vegas floor!

Let’s just say it was a night carved into the concrete. Three killer bands. One legendary room. And Rahway proving they’re not just bad, they’re a full‑blown hard‑rock superweapon of mass destruction!

My Thoughts

And that right there is my way of firing off a full‑blast, chrome‑melting shout‑out to this amazing band! The high‑octane, stage‑wrecking, sonic war‑machine known across the rock world as the Rahway Band.

These guys aren’t just a band; they’re a technicolor hard‑rock juggernaut, a gasoline‑drenched riff factory, a bada$$ engine tuned for maximum destruction with zero apologies.

If you want to feel the fire, taste the grit, and ride the shockwave yourself, check the links below and dive headfirst into the chaos.

Rahway is the real deal, loud, lethal, and built to blow the doors off anything with a stage and a power outlet to hook up to!

See y'all at the Dive Bar on November 13th!

Bat Out Of Hell: How To Get Noticed In The Loud World Of The Media Biz!

 Journalism 1-0-1:

To the newbie's chasing the spotlights in the media world:

A writer-slash-blogger-slash-photographer’s first job is simple:

To get seen!

Let the truth be known: The suits don’t give a damn about pretty pictures or perfect spelling — they want reach, raw numbers, bodies in the seats, eyes on the page, and readers who keep coming back for another hit of words!

Back in 2019, I rolled into Sunset Station with a camera and a chip on my shoulder. I didn’t just shoot the night — I twisted it, warped it, gave it a look nobody else dared to try back then. (The pic at the top) My little "pop art" experiment didn’t just get noticed; it ricocheted around the world and shoved my words onto the bloggers' roadmap.

Now that my latest blog is pulling in over 125,000 followers who ride with my words. I’m laying my pop‑art phase down gently — letting it fade like the last chord of a midnight set. Cell phones have cameras too. I’ll still snap a few shots to juice up my storytelling, but the real punch now only comes from the words that I write!

My lesson to all who are pursuing media as a hobby, or as a career.

Find something that gets your work noticed, and run with it like a bat out of Hell 馃敟

In The Year 2525 Will Man Still Be Alive: How About Tomorrow?

End of the World? My thoughts.

Throughout history, every time humanity invented something powerful, people looked at it and thought, "This is it—this is how the world ends." But the truth beneath all these fears is simple: none of these forces came from the sky or some mysterious cosmic hand. Man built them. Man feared them. And man learned to eventually live with them!

From the moment scientists first cracked open the atom, newspapers warned that a single spark of nuclear energy could wipe out continents. When early computers arrived, people imagined machines taking over, replacing workers, or crashing civilization. By the late 1990s, the Y2K panic convinced millions that at the stroke of midnight, every bank, airport, and power grid would collapse because computers couldn’t handle the date “2000.” And today, massive data centers humming in the desert and AI systems learning at lightning speed trigger new waves of anxiety — fears of runaway intelligence, digital collapse, or machines outgrowing their makers.

But in every era, the pattern stays the same. Humanity creates something extraordinary. The public panics, imagining the invention as a doorway to doom. Then time passes, understanding deepens, and the technology becomes part of everyday life. Nuclear energy didn’t end the world; it became a power source. Computers didn’t destroy society; they rebuilt it. Data Centers swallow civilization? Most likely not. Even AI — the newest “end of the world” candidate — is still just a tool shaped by human hands, human choices, and human responsibility.

The fear is real, but the source is not supernatural. It’s us. Our inventions, our imagination, our uncertainty. Every “end of the world” moment in history is really a story about human creativity outrunning human comfort. And every time, we eventually catch up.

Humans keep inventing these “Doomsday” wonders because the same mind that trembles at its own creations is driven to push past every boundary it finds. We build powerful, risky, world‑shaking tools not out of a desire for destruction, but out of curiosity, ambition, and the refusal to stay small. Fear arrives later — after the invention, after the breakthrough, after the leap. But the leap always comes first. In the end, we keep creating these things because the drive to explore and expand outweighs the fear of what exploration might unleash, and because every dangerous invention is also a doorway to a bigger, more capable version of ourselves. After all, the end of the world has been predicted a thousand times — yet the only thing humanity ever truly ends is its own limits!

What The World Needs Now Is Peace Love & Togetherness!

Speaking as an old dude who’s been around the block — seen it, lived it, reported it — the world feels more twisted now than at any point in my lifetime. People are spinning out in every direction, and honestly, I’m pretty disgusted with planet Earth myself.

So I drift back to the days when the Hippies ruled, when the air felt lighter, and the message was simple: Peace, Love, Togetherness. It sounds impossible now, but wouldn’t it be something to say again — and actually mean — that love is the answer? Peace, my brother. Peace, my sister. What the world needs now is love, sweet love! (And God) ☮ ✝ ❤

My hope for today: May you find a quiet moment today to breathe, to center, and to share a little love with someone who needs it!

Keep The Beat Keep The Respect: Music Scene Rhythm Meets Real Life Truth!

Waking up this morning, I felt that quiet rush of gratitude humming through me — another sunrise, another shot to do what I love. I cracked open the inbox, and there they were: four assignments lined up like a blessing disguised as hustle. Instead of shaking my head, I nodded. Thankful to have the work, thankful to still be part of the noise and the narrative.

I skim down the AP wire, slide through the UPI feed, then wander into Facebook land like stepping into a familiar neon-lit alley. The day looks solid, steady, full of possibility. And yeah, there’s always a “but” lurking somewhere — but today I’m meeting it with gratitude instead of grit. It’s time to speak my peace!

There’s a virus going around that’s called Disrespect, and you can feel it creeping around in our local Las Vegas music community if you listen close enough. Out here, where amps buzz, voices shine, and dreams get tested under the neon heat, respect is the one thing that keeps people standing tall.

The world’s changed, Vegas has changed, and the scene I’m proud to be part of has shifted right along with it! But the need to treat people right never goes out of style. As someone who cares and as a journalist who actually pays attention, I feel it’s my responsibility to say it straight: Respect is the baseline, the beat we all need to stay in time with!

The fix is actually pretty simple.

"Treat others how you want to be treated"

For those of you that Respect your Creator, it's called the Golden Rule.

The Music He Left Behind: Honoring Joey Mazzone's Wish For His Music To Live On!

Many early mornings — four, sometimes five a.m. — I wake not to an alarm, but to the soft murmur of voices drifting through my head. What I write about today. This morning was different. I woke to a voice rising straight out of my heart. After reading the obituary for Joey Mazzone last night, I opened my eyes early this morning with a quiet certainty that I needed to speak — to write — about this remarkable friend, musician, and truly awesome man.

I remember that early day in August, just a month ago, when the weight of losing a friend settled over me — a friend I now wish I’d had the chance to be closer to. It was one of those still, fragile mornings when the world feels thinner, and the things you didn’t say echo louder than the ones you did.

So today, I say my peace through my writing.

I was blessed to have Joey in my life for only a short stretch of years, crossing paths in the world of music—in the rooms where he played what he loved and where I wrote about what I loved: music!

I remember Joey always inviting Dorrie and me to his upcoming gigs; We made as many as we could, and now I find myself wishing we would have made even more!

Many times, Joey and I would sit together at an empty table and talk about life and music. I remember him as a deeply friendly soul — soft‑spoken offstage, carrying himself with a gentle ease — but the moment he stepped under the lights, he sang loud and proud. I listened to his music not just for the melody, but for the words. So many of his songs were stories, pieces of his life woven into verses and choruses. Through our conversations, and even more through the lyrics he wrote, it was clear how much Joey loved music — how much he loved sharing it with the world.

He lived with a quiet pain most people never saw, me included, and his greatest relief came from creating the songs that carried him through. My own relief in losing my friend comes from knowing he’s in Heaven now — no pain, no weight — and still making his music.

One thing I do know is that Joey had one clear wish: for his music to live on. That was his heartbeat, his hope, the thing he wanted to leave behind for the world. So here is my part in helping that wish along. To all my readers of my blog, to my followers and subscribers, and to my friends on Facebook, I ask you to join me — hit the link below, listen, share, and keep his songs moving forward. Let’s help Joey Mazzone’s wish to come true. Let's keep his music alive!

Rest in peace, Joey.

Love you always, my brother in music.

The Lone Ranger Ghostwriter Takes Off His Mask: Is Ghostwriting Really Worth It In The End?

Is Ghostwriting Really Worth It In The End?

In my almost six decades in the media, it wasn’t just being a writer or ghostwriting for other writers; it was a lifelong learning experience. I’ve been fortunate enough to learn the music and entertainment side of the business from some of the best minds worldwide. I stayed invisible for most of that career — a shadow with a typewriter — until 2008, when I punched the time clock for the very last time. From then until today, I’ve been drifting through the rough, unpredictable freelance waters of Las Vegas, still wearing the ghostwriter’s Lone Ranger mask. To about ninety‑nine percent of the people around me, I’m just the old guy who writes about Vegas music, snaps a few photos, and tries not to make too many waves in the local scene. But there’s more to this old guy than meets the eye!

Last month, I decided to try and go clean, calling a ton of the people from my past experiences. Many have already gone to the music scene in the sky, many businesses don’t keep records from back then, and many of the folks I worked with or worked for don’t exist anymore. Guess I’m stuck with all of my learned knowledge and have no place to use it. Or is there?

After I decided to go clean, I took it a step further — I started building a job r茅sum茅, something that could put me back in the grind and let me use this head full of knowledge where it works best: right here in the music scene I dig so much.

Turns out me shooting my mouth off about ways to advertise and promote music events — my suggestions about the music biz, and my blog musicentertainmentsports.blogspot.com — has caught a few people’s eyes. The stuff I write about, the ideas I throw out there, the advice I give… it works. And suddenly people are asking: Who is this guy? This guy says the music scene needs fixing, and he’s bold enough to claim he’s the one who can fix it. Is he crazy?

No. I’m the guy with six decades in the biz — the guy who’s been there, done that, and still has the scars and the stories to prove it. A few recent events in my life have changed this old guy, and if you don’t take me seriously, maybe you’ll listen when I finally take the Lone Ranger mask off. I know some will take this post as me shooting my mouth off — ha! — but like I said, a few people have figured the old guy out. And a few have started asking questions about who this old guy really is.

But that’s not the question. The real question is: When is somebody — or someone with a little pull — in the local entertainment scene going to call my “All In” bet that I just might be the old guy who can fix what’s broken around here?

Queensr每che Hit Las Vegas Saturday Night Inside The Cannery Casino Hotel With A Meteor Barrage Of Non-Stop Hits That Left The Club Glowing in the Afterburn!

Queensryche

Cannery Casino Hotel "The Club"

Queensr每che’s evolution from their early 1980s metal beginnings to the present day reads like a masterclass in artistic growth!
They rose quickly with a sound that blended heavy-metal precision, power‑metal fire, and the atmospheric ambition that would make them pioneers of progressive metal. Through the decades, the band kept pushing boundaries, refining their craft, and expanding their musical reach.
Then came June 2012 — a turning point that felt less like a shake‑up and more like a rebirth. Todd La Torre stepped in and immediately reignited the band’s signature energy, bringing a fresh spark that lit up both studio and stage.
Joined by founding forces Michael Wilton and Eddie Jackson, the return of guitarist Mike Stone, and the dynamic drumming of Casey Grillo,
Queensr每che stands today as a revitalized, battle‑ready band, one that honors its legacy while hitting the modern era with renewed strength and unmistakable purpose!

Saturday night, Queensr每che stormed The Club stage inside the Cannery Casino Hotel and took no hostages, firing off a set of over 90 minutes that hit the room like a precision‑guided missile!

Queensr每che hit the Cannery like a detonation, blasting through swirling lights, rolling smoke, and arena‑grade sound. It was a totally awesome experience!

The band erupted like a sonic boom, sending metal shrapnel across the crowd as they launched straight into "Queen of the Reich". They kept the adrenaline spiking with "Operation Mindcrime", "Walk In The Shadows", "Speak", "I Don't Believe In Love", "Best I Can", and "Warning". Before Todd threw the switch and blasted the house lights back on, he leaned into this easy, laid‑back moment with the crowd, a full showroom of diehards packed tight into The Club. He wasn’t “addressing an audience”; he was talking with old friends, thanking everyone for showing up and hitting the night with the kind of energy only Las Vegas fans bring. It felt like one of those catch‑ups you fall into with people you haven’t seen in a while — warm, familiar, and real.

Those few minutes felt like the calm before the next detonation — a rare, quiet pocket in the night where the band caught their breath and the room held still. It wasn’t long, just enough time for Queensr每che to reset, reload, and let the adrenaline settle for half a heartbeat.

And when they kicked back in, it was obvious that breather didn’t slow them down; it supercharged them. Their internal metal meter wasn’t just back in the green; it was pegged past 100%, redlining like a machine built to run hotter than physics should allow!

Queensr每che came out swinging like a trained MMA fighter with a score to settle, blasting into the set with "Neue Regel", "Behind the Walls"," Take Hold of the Flame", and "Silent Lucidity". By then, The Club wasn’t just packed — it was alive, every voice locked in, every fan singing every word like they were right up there onstage with the band.

Then came the next barrage: "Jet City Woman", "Screaming in Digital", and "Anarchy X" — each one hitting with the force of a flaming meteor slamming straight into the Las Vegas Strip.

Another quick breather followed, just long enough for Todd to introduce the band and share a moment with the fans packed into the Club. Then Queensr每che fired off the final salvo: "Revolution Calling", "Empire", and the night‑ending knockout punch, "Eyes of a Stranger".

As for my review grade?

Queensr每che closed out the night like a band dead‑set on proving why they’re still one of the most lethal forces in metal. Every member was firing at peak power — razor‑sharp guitars slicing through the room, bass lines rumbling like underground Vegas thunder, drums hitting with the precision of a seasoned prizefighter, and Todd’s vocals soaring, snarling, and commanding every inch of The Club. The lighting rig blasted the stage in waves of neon fire, smoke curled around the band like a living creature, and the sound system punched with arena‑level force that felt impossible for a club room to contain.

It wasn’t just a concert — it was a full‑scale metal storm, a night where every song landed like a meteor strike and every moment reminded you why Queensr每che still owns any stage they step onto.

I walked in as a classic rock writer… I walked out a full-blown metalhead.
