Sunday June 28th 6 To 9PM: The Parking Lot One Year Resurrection of Count’s Vamp’d Bar & Grill LV

As if you needed the reminder, the signal’s already in the sky. This Sunday, June 28th, from 6–9 PM, the Vamp’d faithful are rising like a pack of leather‑clad phoenixes — the kind that don’t ask permission, don’t apologize, and sure as hell don’t fade quietly into the Vegas night. The whole Vamp’d family is rolling back to the old haunt — not inside, yeah, we know, but out in that legendary parking lot where half the greatest stories were born, broken, and bragged about. It’s the perfect battleground to reconnect, trade war stories, and pump a little oxygen back into the place that raised us, wrecked us, and rocked us harder than any joint in this neon‑soaked city.

And speaking of war stories, I’ve got a vault full of them — all good, all loud, all stamped with the Vamp’d seal of chaos. You’d think picking a favorite would be impossible, but it’s not. One rises above the rest like a spotlight cutting through the smoke.

A few years back, my wife and I hit the Cannery Hotel Casino to see Great White, one of our all‑time favorites. We had no clue we were about to witness history. Great White unleashed their new frontman, Brett Carlisle, and the dude hit that stage like a lion that had been waiting his whole life to roar. He tore the roof off the Cannery Showroom and owned every inch of that stacked house. I did what I do — dropped a 5‑star write‑up that went viral overnight and lit up the rock world with over 25,000 views.

Fast‑forward to the next year. Great White at the Westgate. Killer night. After the show, our crew headed straight to Count’s Vamp’d to finish the night the only way rock people know how. I slid into my sweet spot — right by the green room, next to VIP — and boom. Look who’s here. Brett Carlisle himself, soaking up the Vamp’d vibe like he’d been born into it. He recognized me from the write‑up and the photos, and next thing you know, we’re backstage with me giving Brett a personal guided tour of the historic Vamp’d green room. Quick impromptu interview. Pure rock magic. Brett’s one cool cat! — genuine, sharp, and built for the stage.

The interview went worldwide, and my wife Dorrie got her picture with Brett, a moment stamped forever in our (Dorrie & I) personal Vamp’d history!

Tomorrow night, when the Vamp’d family rolls in, what's your favorite memory? The loud ones, the wild ones, the ones that still make your heart thump like a kick drum solo! You've heard mine, what's yours?

See you Sunday night. (June 28th from 6-9pm)

Out front of the bar. For what I predict will be one kick-a$$ party!

Count’s Vamp’d Memories One Year Later: Celebrating The Legacy That Meant So Much to Las Vegas

 June 28th, 2025

On June 29th of last year, I wrote an article for National News Media, Worldwide Entertainment, and for a group of newspapers, magazines, and entertainment sites across the web, an article I never imagined I’d have to write. You can read that article by clicking on the link below.

“The Night That Count’s Lights Went Dim.”

The night before, June 28th, felt like the world stood still. For so many of us, it was more than a venue closing; it was the end of a chapter in Las Vegas music history. Since then, fans have found comfort in seeing local venues book the bands we’ve always considered family. A handful of bands still perform around Las Vegas. Some bands now tour. Some split time between Vegas, Arizona, and California. Some have moved on.

What I’m proposing now is simple: let’s celebrate the legacy Count’s Vamp’d left us. I’m calling on the fans, the musicians, and the Las Vegas venues that have always supported our scene to step up and host an open‑mic celebration, a night dedicated to the many memories that Vamp'd left us!

{My Thoughts}

Wouldn’t it be incredible to bring our Count’s Vamp’d family back together again for a reunion right here in Las Vegas? Imagine an open‑mic night where the bands and musicians who once owned that stage can step up, plug in, and relive the magic, a full‑circle celebration sometime during the weekend of the 28th (Sunday) this month. A night of memories, music, and the community that made Vamp’d unforgettable. I think it would be absolutely awesome.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Classic Rock In Costume: Blue String Theory Haunts Sunset Station Side Lawn For A Halloween Night To Remember

Last night, the side lawn at Sunset Station Hotel Casino transformed into a high-voltage celebration of Classic Rock and Halloween spirit, courtesy of the powerhouse tribute band Blue String Theory. For ninety electrifying minutes, the group delivered a setlist packed with rock anthems that had fans singing, dancing, and reveling in the spooky season.

Frontman Brian Pollack commanded the stage with gritty vocals and charismatic energy, channeling the soul of rock legends with every note.

Kevin Woodall shredded lead guitar solos that soared into the night air,

while Lonnie NaVeau laid down thunderous bass lines that kept the groove alive.

Scott Mayhood doubled up on keys and guitar, adding rich textures and melodic depth,

while James Sloan drove the heartbeat of the show with precision and punch behind the drums.

Much of the crowd was dressed in Halloween costumes ranging from glam-rock ghouls to vintage vinyl vamps, as well as scary witches and cartoon characters, which mirrored the band’s own festive attire, making the entire lawn feel like a haunted rock party!

{My Take}

What a killer way to spend Halloween, surrounded by costumes, classic rock, and the electric energy of Blue String Theory under the Vegas sky. If you missed last night’s show at Sunset Station, don’t sweat it. The band is back in action tonight, Saturday, November 1st, at Viva Tequila Cantina.

Blue String Theory always brings their A-Game to the stage.

They're one of the longest-running bands in LV!

Need more? Go see this amazing band!

I give them five (5) Big Rock N' Stars as always!

Halloween in Las Vegas: Where To Go To Get In The Spirit Of Hallows Eve

Las Vegas transforms into a supernatural playground each October, serving up everything from family-friendly pumpkin patches to all-night dance parties. Whether you’re carving out kid-approved thrills or chasing the ultimate adult haunt, the city delivers an array of spooky experiences to feed your Halloween craving.

Family-Friendly Frights

Moapa Valley Corn-Maze invites visitors to wander through its pumpkin patch, challenge friends at zombie paintball, and enjoy a host of kids’ activities. After dark, the cornfield takes on a haunted persona, complete with jump scares and winding pathways.

Opportunity Village’s HallOVeen at the Magical Forest turns the nonprofit’s grounds into a carnival of spooky rides, trick-or-treat trails, and themed shopping areas. This experience blends classic fairground fun with just the right amount of Halloween chills.

Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch pops up at four Las Vegas locations—Boca Park, Northwest, Silverado Ranch, and more, offering pumpkin picking, carnival rides, and interactive games perfect for youngsters and big kids alike.

On October 31, Town Scary at Town Square welcomes families from 4–7 p.m. for trick-or-treating, carnival games, and meet-and-greets with baby dinosaurs' courtesy of Dinosaur Outpost. Guests can also explore special exhibits free of charge during the festivities.

HallOVeen at Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest opens October 3 and runs through November 2 on select evenings, offering an extended window for families to explore spooky light trails, seasonal snacks, and themed entertainment.

City of Las Vegas Celebrations

Ward 4’s Halloween Celebration & Movie in the Park invites all ages to don costumes for trunk-or-treating, a Sanderson Sisters contest, and a screening of Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” at dusk. Local food trucks line the lot, so come hungry and ready for family fun.

For adults 50 and over, the city hosts a Haunted Halloween Desserts Cooking Class to master graveyard mouse cakes and vampire bat pops, as well as a Haunted Halloween Luncheon featuring chili con carnage and deviled eggs—costumed attire encouraged.

Adult Nightlife & Parties

AREA15 transforms into scAREA15, an immersive haunted playground where you’ll sip themed craft cocktails, explore art-infused scares, and dance to live DJs amid surreal installations.

At Resorts World Las Vegas, Zouk Nightclub’s Halloweekend brings celebrity guest DJs, costume contests, and late-night revelry to the Strip, making it one of the hottest club stops on October 31.

The Sin City Halloween Ball caters to the creatively obsessed, showcasing elaborate costume runway shows, live performance art, and a dance floor pulsing until sunrise.

Fremont Street Experience throws a massive free Halloween street party complete with live music stages, glow-in-the-dark installations, and a nightly costume contest under the Viva Vision canopy.

For a packed club crawl, check Zouk Nightclub for Clipse, Hakkasan for E-40, and TAO for DJ Franzen—all happening on Halloween night to keep the energy sky-high.

All-Month Spooky Stays

Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino’s Halloween Suite and Day of the Dead Suite stand out as immersive accommodations decked in over-the-top decor. Whether you’re planning a themed photoshoot or a chill staycation, these rooms deliver year-round chills that peak in October.

Tips for Your Spooktacular Weekend

  • Book tickets and table reservations early, especially for popular clubs and family attractions.

  • Embrace on-theme transportation—consider hopping on a ghost-themed tour bus or a classic convertible for Strip views.

  • Layer up: desert nights can get brisk, especially at outdoor haunts.

  • Keep a flashlight handy and follow venue guidelines for props and costumes.

Bonus: Ghost Tours & Offbeat Finds

When you need a break from the big events, explore downtown’s historic neon graveyard on a guided tour, brave Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum in the Arts District, or take a day trip to the real ghost town of Nelson for a dose of Old West eeriness. These off-beat excursions round out any Las Vegas Halloween itinerary.

{My Take}

Whether you're chasing chills in haunted nightclubs, trick-or-treating with the kids under neon skies, or exploring ghostly landmarks off the beaten path, Halloween in Las Vegas offers a thrill for every soul. So, grab your costume, summon your squad, and let the city’s electric spirit carry you through a Halloween you'll never forget!

Trick or treat :-)

The Night That Count's Lights Went Dim

When Danny Koker announced (On May 16th) that his Rock-Bar Count's Vamp'd would be closing their doors on June 28th (29th), it seemed like an eternity to many. With over a month of high-toned concerts and events, made the time seem endless!

But the closing day was finally here. Yesterday, June 28th, 2025,

"The Night That Count's Lights Went Dim"

Me and the wife arrived at the bar around 6:30. We talked with friends and took a few selfies.

We lined up to get into the club a little before seven. As the doors were opened, we all went in to relax and visit with friends. And to wait in anticipation for the show to start.

Then suddenly, a few minutes past nine, the theme song from 2001 A Space Odyssey rang out from the stage. The final performance at Vamp'd was soon to begin!

Here's my Story:

Las Vegas turned the volume all the way up last night, as Count's Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill roared into music history with one final, unforgettable night of rock and roll music.

Count's 77, led by the ever-charismatic Danny “Count” Koker, took the stage to give the loyal Vamp’d faithful exactly what they came for: a no-holds-barred celebration of music, memories, and the spirit of rock that defined this venue for over a decade (16 Years).

Opening the night with the likes of CC Rider & Burning Love, the band wasted no time bringing the energy meter up to eleven. Danny Koker’s vocals were raw with passion, while sending out his love and admiration to all the fans (Flashing Rock & Peace Signs). Guitarist John Zito let his slide and blues-infused solos fly, igniting cheers from the crowd. Stoney Curtis blistered through licks with his signature precision, while Barry Barnes held down the groove on bass, and Jeff Tortora kept the thunder rolling behind the kit (Drums).

Throughout the night, the stage served as a revolving door of Vegas rock royalty. While many of Vegas' top musicians and rock stars stopped by to be part of the night!

Rock Stars and Celebs in attendance last night included (Sorry If I Missed Anyone)

Rob Hussey, Blas Elias, Carmen & Paul Shortino, Phil Soussan, Sebastian Bach, Cassie V. Lapierre Brady, Christian Brady, Korie Koker, Keith Robert War, Paul Cunningham, Nancy Cunningham, Horney Mike, Derek Wallace, Jason Walker, Chase Grijalva, Greg Gee Silver, Les Warner, Danny Wilde, Zowie Bowie, Sally Steele, Eddie Trunk, Brian Tichy, DJ Ashba, Troy Patrick Farrell, Carol-Lyn Liddle Puffer, Patrick Puffer, Donny DeCecco, Keith Steven Caplan, Jay Cee, Jeff Outlaw, David Reed Watson, Tammy Lynn, Andrew Regester, and John Gist, among others that I might have missed in the darkness of the club, sorry!

But the night wasn’t all just blistering rock; there were heartfelt moments, too. Danny Koker paused many times to thank the staff, bands, and fans who kept the fire burning for all these years. At one time, holding up a glass and declaring, “This place wasn’t just a bar — it was a church of rock 'n' roll,” which earned one of many standing ovations of the night.

The celebration went way into the night (The Next Day)

As the final set drew to a close, many fans began singing every word to every song, with many fans wiping tears from their eyes, knowing this was the last time they’d hear these songs echo off the iconic bar's walls.

The emotional crescendo came when the entire lineup of musicians — past and present — gathered for one final jam. There was laughter, there were tears, and above all, there was unity, the kind only music with friends can deliver.

The final curtain fell not with silence, but with a surge of gratitude and love. Fans lingered long after the amps went cold, hugging staff, swapping stories, and snapping photos in front of the legendary neon sign. Some loyal fans stayed until the sun came up!

Count’s Vamp’d may no longer be a stop on the Vegas nightlife circuit, but it will always live on in the hearts of those who believed in its mission. To keep real rock 'n' roll alive.

And on June 28th, it did just that — one last time, loud and proud!

The end.

Or is it?

Turn Out The Neon Lights The Party's Over Why Fewer People Are Visiting Las Vegas

Las Vegas, long known as the ultimate playground for travelers from around the globe, is starting to feel the impact of a noticeable slowdown in tourism. Once bustling year-round with visitors drawn to its casinos, shows, and nightlife, the city is now grappling with shifting travel habits, economic pressures, and a growing perception that the value once found in a Vegas vacation is slipping away. From rising costs and hidden fees to fewer international travelers and evolving tourist preferences, multiple factors are converging to cool off the city’s once red-hot visitor numbers.

Here are some of the main reasons that I found why visitors to Las Vegas are slowing down.

Number 1

Rising Costs for Visitors

  • Resort fees, paid parking, and higher hotel rates have priced out many travelers, especially middle-income tourists.

  • Food and drink prices on the Strip have skyrocketed, leaving many guests feeling like they get less value for their money.

“Vegas has priced out the casual tourist. $20 cocktails, $50 buffets, $100+ resort fees?

What happened to the 99-cent shrimp cocktails and the dollar beers?

Economic Uncertainty & Inflation

  • Many Americans are tightening discretionary spending due to lingering inflation, higher interest rates, and fears of a possible economic slowdown.

  • International visitors are also scaling back travel as global economies face their own challenges.

Fewer International and Canadian Travelers

  • Post-pandemic recovery of international travel has been slower than expected.

  • Canadian visitors, who were a major part of Vegas tourism, have decreased significantly, blamed on unfavorable currency exchange rates and stricter travel advisories.

  • Fewer flights and more expensive airfare compound the issue.

Changing Traveler Preferences

  • Tourists are increasingly looking for "experiential" destinations that feel authentic or offer nature-based, cultural, or immersive activities.

  • Las Vegas’ focus on luxury and high-end spending doesn’t appeal to all segments anymore, especially younger tourists seeking unique or local experiences.

Vegas Over-Reliance on Entertainment + Tech Glitches

  • Some visitors feel the city has become too commercialized or formulaic, relying too heavily on arena shows and mega-events like Formula 1.

  • New tech experiences (e.g., The Sphere) haven’t yet translated into consistent traffic beyond launch periods.

Frustrations With Fees and Add-Ons

  • The "nickel-and-dime" model of charging for every small service has driven away loyal guests.

  • Examples: early check-in fees, energy surcharges, and even fees to use hotel amenities like fridges.

Growth of Competing Destinations

  • Cities like Nashville, Austin, Miami, and international options offer lively entertainment with fewer hidden fees and more local flair.

  • Casinos in California, Arizona, and tribal areas are improving and attracting nearby visitors who used to go to Vegas.

What's Hurting Vegas Tourism?

Factor  Description
High Costs       Hotels, food, and resort fees
Economic Pressure     Inflation, reduced spending
Drop in Intl. Travel         Especially Canada
Experience ShiftsTourists want more authenticity
Over-commercialization   Loss of "classic Vegas" charm
Better Alternatives     Other cities are catching up

In closing, the slowing tourism in Las Vegas is the result of a perfect storm of factors—from rising travel costs and lingering inflation to international travel slowdowns and shifting consumer preferences. As visitors become more selective and value-conscious, and as other destinations rise in popularity, Las Vegas faces the challenge of reinventing itself once again. While the city has weathered similar storms before, this current slowdown signals a critical moment for its tourism industry to adapt, innovate, and find new ways to entice travelers back to the entertainment capital of the world.

As for my take on the tourist slowdown.

How about Las Vegas becoming more "Tourist Friendly" again!

How The 2025 Electric Daisy Carnival In Las Vegas Broke Records and Reimagined the Rave

Well, the EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) has come and gone again.

For those who don't know. The Electric Daisy Carnival is the world’s largest electronic-dance-music festival and one of Nevada’s biggest annual events. For three straight overnights, the Las Vegas Speedway is transformed into a neon playground filled with:

Eight-plus colossal stages—each rebuilt yearly around a different fantastical theme and kitted with cutting-edge LED, laser, and pyro rigs. 2025’s kinetic FIELD features a crystalline “Temple of Light” design framed by 28 moving petals.

Carnival midway packed with thrill rides, interactive art installations, and free-to-ride wedding chapels where thousands of couples have actually tied the knot.

Camp EDC—a pop-up city of 23k campers featuring its own pool, after-hours stages, and wellness programming.

Roving art cars & secret sets—flatbed-truck sound systems that host surprise sunrise DJ sets from A-list acts playing incognito.

EDC leans heavily into rave roots: kandi trading, totem poles, imaginative costumes, and the PLUR credo (Peace Love Unity Respect). Despite the spectacle, Insomniac pushes harm-reduction—free water-refill stations, ground-level medical teams and “Ground Control” volunteers offering earplugs and info.

Revenue engine: With GA passes now north of $575 (fees in), VIP at $1.1 k and on-site spend averaging $110 pp, festival-side gross eclipses $390–400 million.

Regional lift: Hotel sell-outs valley-wide plus “EDC Week” club residencies push total visitor spend toward $1.8 b, according to prior Beacon Economics/LVCVA models.

2025 EDC Attendance and Revenue

Attendance (preliminary): Local officials and Insomniac spokespeople told Las Vegas media outlets that “just over 550,000 people” entered the Las Vegas Motor Speedway over the three-night run, May 16-18, 2025. That breaks the previous record of 525k in 2024. Average nightly headcount was put at 155k Fri / 190k Sat / 205k Sun.

Festival-side gross (tickets + on-site spend):

Rough GA, GA+ and VIP price structure this year (after fees) ran $579 / $799 / $1,099 for three-day passes; Camp EDC packages started at $1,169 per campsite.

Using Insomniac’s disclosed 62 % GA – 25 % GA+ – 13 % VIP sales mix and a conservative $110 per-person on-site spend (food, merch, ride tokens), total festival gross tops $390 - 400 million.

Regional economic impact: The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority relies on Beacon Economics for its post-event studies (last published for 2022). Scaling their 2022 multiplier ($1.6 b in total activity on 500k attendees) to the verified 2025 headcount puts overall visitor-generated economic activity at $1.7 - 1.8 billion, with about $100 m in state & local taxes.

The LVCVA says its full 2025 report will arrive in late July

The EDC Las Vegas continues to be a cornerstone event in the electronic dance music scene, drawing fans from around the world. With its blend of music, art, and community, the festival offers an unparalleled experience for attendees. And brings in a ton of money for the Las Vegas Community!

Till Next Year!

Suggestions On How To Celebrate Your Birthday In Las Vegas

If there’s one city on Planet Earth built for over-the-top birthday celebrations, it’s Las Vegas.

Whether you're turning 21 or 51, or a bit older (Like Me Today), Las Vegas dares you to go bigger, bolder, and a little wilder on your special day. From sky-high thrills to unforgettable (Instagram-worthy) ways to celebrate your big day in Sin City, LV.

Here are some crazy things to do to celebrate your special day of the year.

Rent a Party Bus or Limo – Cruise the Strip with drinks, music, and friends. Many include club entry packages.

Nightclub VIP Experience – Book a table at places like XS, Omnia, or Marquee with bottle service and a dedicated host.

Pool Party Rager – Celebrate at a day club like Wet Republic, Encore Beach Club, or Drai’s Beachclub.

Skydive Over the Desert – Tandem skydive for an unforgettable rush.

Stratosphere Thrill Rides – Ride Insanity, X-Scream, or Big Shot at the top of The STRAT.

Drive a Supercar – Race Ferraris and Lamborghinis at the Speed Vegas or Dream Racing tracks.

Go to a Wild Show – See Absinthe for raunchy circus-style comedy, or Magic Mike Live for a bold, cheeky thrill.

Drag Brunch – A loud, proud celebration at Senor Frog’s or The Garden.

Walk The Strip - Take a walk, look around, grab an adult drink or two. The party will definitely find you. Check out Harrah's Carnaval Court.

Fremont Street Zipline & Bar Crawl – Fly down SlotZilla, then hit bars with live music and street performers. Always a crazy crowd to party with.

Private Helicopter Tour – Fly over the Strip at night with champagne in hand.

Dine at a Celebrity Chef Restaurant – Try Hell’s Kitchen, Nobu, or Eiffel Tower Restaurant for a high-end meal.

Shoot Machine Guns – Head to Battlefield Vegas or Machine Guns Vegas for a full Rambo moment.

Do a Themed Photoshoot – Dress up 1920s, cowboy, or mob-style and get pro pics taken downtown.

{My Take}

No matter how wild or weird you want your birthday to be, Las Vegas delivers. From adrenaline highs and rooftop views to all-night parties and over-the-top indulgences, the city is built to make memories. So whether you're going big with friends or just treating yourself to something outrageous, Vegas is the ultimate birthday playground. Just remember—what happens here makes one hell of a birthday story.

As for this birthday boy. An hour or two at my favorite casino (Santa Fe Station), A few rounds of blackjack, a couple of hot slot machines, and a frozen Margarita or two.
Makes for a Happy Birthday to me. :-)

{About The Band And 21 Gun Salute}

Cyanide with Rob Hussey (Front) definitely brings that classic Vegas rock energy to the stage!

Cyanide has been the opening band for a "Who's Who" Of Famous Bands Around the World.

Bands including Skid Row, Krokus, Doro, Black N Blue, Ratt, Loudness, Steel Panther, Geoff Tate, Stephen Pearcy, L.A. Guns, Trixter, Lynch Mob, BulletBoys, Rough Cutt, and Enuff Znuff.

The birth of 21 Gun Salute began way back in 2016 when Rob wrote Fireball. Which would eventually become the 1st song in the upcoming album. While working on the 4th song (2019), the band simply ended. With all that was going on. Rob decided to step away from the music industry. Finally, in 2022, Rob began writing again. Out of nowhere, Rob's life took a negative turn again. Including his Marriage.

Life turned totally around for Rob in 2023. With a new love in his life. Rob found the true meaning of life again!

In April 2024, after losing his longtime producer, Rob's close friend Mike Floros introduced him to producer Ty Sims. There was an Immediate connection. Working together almost non-stop during 2024 and 2025. The album was finally finished! About this time, Kivel Records came into the picture.

With new members in his band, a new album, a new love in his life, a new producer, and a new record label for his band. Life is finally looking up for Rob.

His story gives a new meaning to "Life Is Music, Music Is Life." And to Never Give Up!

“21 Gun Salute is everything we’ve lived through, fought through, and come out louder for, and as far as the album release party, it’s my way of saying thank you to everyone who has been involved with the making of the album, and every fan who’s been in the trenches with us.”

Thank You All !

~Rob Hussey~

With 21 Gun Salute, Cyanide doesn’t just honor their past—they’re charging full-speed into the future.

See You At The Release Party.
