Battle Of The Bands Best Band Contests Hot Events In LV !

Right now, "Battle Of The Bands" and "Best Band" contests are very popular in Las Vegas.

Two that I'm currently involved with are "The Battle Of The Bands" at The Bonfire LV, and the upcoming "Best Rock Band In Las Vegas" contest at The Las Vegas Guitar Trade Show - RockGodz Hall Of Fame Awards Ceremony coming up May 30th thru June 1st at the Silverton Hotel Casino.

The Bonfire LV

Best Rock Band In Las Vegas - Las Vegas Guitar Trade Show

There are many benefits for both new and established bands in the industry to enter these contests.

Here are just a few of the many benefits that bands enjoy from taking part in these contests.

One of the main reasons is the Exposure.

These events attract music fans, industry professionals, and other musicians, helping bands gain new listeners and potential networking opportunities.

Prizes, Awards & Opportunities – Many contests offer cash, studio recording time, new gear, or even performance slots at major festivals or venues.

The contest at the Bonfire LV awards the monthly winning band a thousand dollars in cold hard cash. While the Best Rock Band In Las Vegas contest at the Las Vegas Guitar Trade Show is awarding the winning band a RockGodz Hall Of Fame Platinum Award Of Excellence. And will be the opening band for the RockGodz Hall Of Fame Awards Ceremony on May 31st.  Plus, National exposure across the US.

Experience & Growth.

Competing helps bands refine their stage presence, tighten their performances, and handle the pressure of live shows.

Building a Fanbase.

Local or online battles can introduce bands to new fans, especially if there's audience voting involved.

Industry Recognition.

Some competitions are judged by industry professionals, giving bands a chance to be noticed by record labels, producers, or booking agents.

Fun & Camaraderie.

It's a chance to play live, connect with other musicians, and enjoy the competitive yet supportive atmosphere of the local scene.

Did you know that the Beatles and Karen & Richard Carpenter competed in many Battle Of The Bands contests before they were famous!

Keep Rock'N !

Battle Of The Bands Best Rock Band In Las Vegas What's In The Name?

 Yesterday and early this morning,

I, along with a handful of local musicians and fans, had a discussion online about an upcoming event that is sponsoring a high-toned "Battle Of The Bands" contest. The discussion wasn't about the contest itself, but about the name of the contest. "The Best Rock Band In Las Vegas"

The discussion arose over whether a contest can actually proclaim the best band in just one contest.

The contest is open to every band in the city. Bands send in their best audio MP3, or a music video of their band. Then they're judged, and the best audio or video is picked as the winner. Take it for what it is. It's not like the band has a bad day or something. All the bands are on an equal playing field. Send in your best and you're judged, Simple to enter for some really cool awards for who wins!

Here are my thoughts as a journalist ...

The best bands in Las Vegas stand out due to a combination of talent, professionalism, and entertainment value. Since Vegas is known for its high-energy and competitive music scene. Here are some of the key qualities that come to my mind that makes a band successful, or even the best band in the city (Las Vegas).

Outstanding Musical Talent

Flawless instrument and vocal execution, whether performing originals or covers.

Tight, well-rehearsed sound that delivers a high-caliber performance every time.

Engaging Stage Presence

High energy and captivating showmanship that keeps audiences entertained.

Strong crowd interaction to create an immersive experience.

Versatility & Adaptability

Ability to play multiple genres or adapt setlists to fit different venues and audiences.

Can perform in various formats—acoustic, full band, or even with dancers and special effects.

Professionalism & Reliability

Punctual, well-organized, and easy to work with for venues and promoters.

Delivers consistent performances without last-minute cancellations or issues.

Strong Branding & Marketing

Eye-catching visuals, social media presence, and promotional materials.

A recognizable band identity that attracts a loyal fanbase.

High-Quality Production

Great sound, lighting, and stage effects that enhance the live experience.

Ability to work with venue production teams to ensure a polished show.

Unique Factor

A signature style, whether through costume, setlist choices, or performance gimmicks.

Something that makes them stand out from other acts in Vegas.

Vegas audiences expect top-tier entertainment when they go to see a band. Whether it’s an original band, a cover band, or a tribute act.

The Story Behind Chasing Light Winning Battle Of The Bands At The Bonfire Las Vegas

With only a few months of performing together. Chasing Light is already getting noticed.

This week, Chasing Light Won The Battle Of The Bands contest at the Bonfire Las Vegas.

They also caught this journalist attention.

For many reasons I might add.

Here's the story.

Earlier this year, I wrote a "Behind The Scenes" article about what goes on in a band's closed-door practice session. Something fans don't get to see. The featured band in my article was "Sex To Love". That's when I met Nico Hayek (lead Guitarist For Sex To Love) and got to witness this young man's musical talent.

I've been keeping up with the Battle Of The Bands contest for a couple of weeks on Facebook. I really believe that these contests are good for the music industry and help young and new talent in the industry to get the exposure that they much deserve!

The next morning after the Battle Of The Bands finale. I opened up Facebook to find out that Chasing Light was the winner of the Battle Of The Bands finale the night before. As I read on I found out that Nico Hayek and Helena Harris was two members of the band. What a coincidence. I already know the musical talent that Nico possesses from meeting him a few months back. But to find out that I've already got to see Helena Harris and witness her amazing music talent on stage a few months back also at the Bonfire. Like wow!

Helena and Nico remind me of me. I found my passion for writing still in my teens. Much like Helena (Now 18) and Nico (Now 19) have both found their amazing musical niche in life.

To find out what your niche in life is while still in your teens is awesome!

And to excel in your niche is a blessing!

I compare Helena and Nico to Karen & Richard Carpenter. (Age & Musical Talent)

Besides Chasing Light's awesome talent on stage. Their social media presence is The Bomb!

Thanks to Helena's dad Larry Harris. Which handles his daughter's media and PR, along with Chasing Light's social media and internet presence.

One thing that separates really good bands from the rest of the pack is how and where they're being seen.

As a band, you've got to keep fresh in all of your fan's minds. That's what Larry is really good at!

It's one thing in the business that I call one of the "It Factors"!

Yes, Chasing Light is "Doing Everything Right"

Their amazing talent on stage, with a Marketing and PR Guru (Helena's Dad), and a strong support system that Helena and Nico both have with their parents actively involved.

I see a very bright future for the both of them!

By the way. Congratulations For Winning Battle Of The Bands!

Check out the links below to find out more about Helena and Nico, and about their amazing band.

And The Bonfire LV. Their food and refreshments are deliciously Awesome. And their entertainment lineup, stage and sound system are Bad A$$ too! I Love This Bar!
