Rustic Lounge Roll‑Call: The Bands & The Musicians Who Lit Up The Stage!

Last night, I rolled into the Rustic Lounge in Henderson for their every‑other‑Thursday night Jam‑Fest — and man, these nights always hit different. I live for these jam sessions. The room turns into a playground for raw Vegas and Henderson talent, with musicians stepping up to show off what they’ve got, test‑drive fresh riffs, tighten the loose bolts, and just flat‑out do the thing they love. It’s some of the best homegrown firepower in the valley, all plugged in and unleashed!

From the second I hit the door, I knew the night was about to explode. The place was packed wall‑to‑wall with fans, die‑hard music lovers, and a whole crew of local musicians I already recognized — the kind of crowd that tells you that the Rustic Lounge is about to throw down something special!

My mission for the night wasn’t just to soak up the music — it was to snag some intel on a few standout bands and local talent I can blast out to the world. I’m always looking to give these Vegas and Henderson artists a little extra push in the right direction, shine a light on their grind, and help their names travel farther than the room they’re playing in. And let’s just say… my blog has some suits in the music biz around the world watching and listening to what I say!

The whole night was off the charts from the jump. Every band, every music maker, every artist who hit that stage was locked in and bringing it loud — no misses, no warm‑ups, just straight firepower all night long!

The first band to grab my attention was Satin Steel out of Arizona. After their set, I sat down with them and went straight into my “you guys need to move to Vegas” spiel — because your sound and look would crush it here. Word, is they love Zona and its music scene, but they’re seriously vibing with the Vegas crowd, and they’re all about the Rustic Lounge. Let’s just say, if you’re a venue booker or a music promoter in Vegas, you might want to check out Satin Steel’s YouTube channel. They’ve got Vegas written all over them!

The next artist to hit the stage was a showstopper — a young powerhouse with the look of Cleopatra, with the voice of Ann Wilson from Heart, and the fearless, electric stage charisma of a Miley Cyrus.
 I first saw her over a year ago when she was just breaking into the music scene, and in that short time she’s transformed into a full‑throttle rock star dominating the local circuit. Helena Harris, you’ve officially grabbed this rock-journalist's attention. Wow. < Chasing Light >

My third spotlight dropped right onto Paul Anthony Systemec and his beautiful wife, Jen Lynn. Before they hit the stage, Paul told me, “Me and Jen are just doing a simple acoustic set tonight.” Well… Paul, Jen — that “simple acoustic set” sounded like a full arena‑touring band rolling through the Rustic Lounge. Big, bold, and absolutely awesome. Paul mentioned his band is getting things back in motion after a short hiatus from the biz, and from what I saw and heard last night, you’re more than ready to storm the stage again! Bring it on!

{My Take}

What an absolutely awesome night of music, friends, and full‑throttle talent at the Rustic Lounge.
Huge thanks to Carmen and Les Warner for the invite — you two know how to pack a room with firepower.

And a special shoutout to Dave Bentz and Dezi Lou for keeping the whole show running smooth as glass.
To Satin Steel, Helena Harris, Paul and Jen, and every single band and musician who lit up that stage last night —

  You All RAWK!

Country’s Bill Sanderson & Southern Rock’s Sweet Home Alabama Saddle Up At Viva Tequila Henderson To Benefit The Las Vegas High School & Jr High Rodeo Team Thursday Night July 16!

Pictured left: Bill Sanderson
Pictured right: Sweet Home Alabama & The Las Vegas High School & Jr High Rodeo Team

The Las Vegas music scene doesn’t just give back — it saddles up and rides in full force, and Thursday night in Henderson proved it. Country troubadour Bill Sanderson brought the twang, Sweet Home Alabama rolled in with that Southern‑rock thunder, and Viva Tequila Restaurant & Bar threw open its doors like a honky‑tonk ready for a throwdown, all to support the Las Vegas High School & Jr. High Rodeo Team.

From the first guitar lick, the place was jumping like a dance hall on a Saturday night. Twenty percent of every plate and pour went straight to the rodeo kids, and raffle tickets were whipping through the air like someone kicked up dust on a dusty backroad. We dug into onion rings, chicken strips, and fries, washed it down with ice‑cold drinks, and settled in for three-plus hours of country soul and Southern‑rock fire that kept the crowd shoulder‑to‑shoulder and loud enough to rattle the windows.

Inside Viva Tequila, the vibe hit that perfect crossroads — country comfort meeting Southern‑rock swagger. The twang warmed the room, the guitar grit sharpened it, and together they wrapped the crowd in that familiar, boots‑on‑the‑ground Americana glow. Every raffle ticket bought, every plate served, every chorus belted out felt like another spark tossed into the night.

This wasn’t just Vegas showing up — it was Viva Tequila, the musicians, and the community standing tall, lifting their young rodeo riders with every note, every cheer, every stomp of a boot on the floor.

With a packed house, food and drinks covering every table, and raffle tickets flying like rodeo arena confetti, Thursday night stayed alive from start to finish. The energy never dipped, the crowd never thinned, and the support never slowed. By the time the amps cooled, one thing was clear — Thursday night was a runaway win for the Las Vegas High School & Jr. High Rodeo Team, the kind of country‑and‑Southern‑rock‑soaked community victory that sends everyone home grinning!

{My Take}

The Las Vegas local music scene came riding in full force Thursday night, boots down and guitars up. Bill Sanderson brought that smooth, down‑south country croon — the kind that feels like a warm porch light on a summer night — while Sweet Home Alabama rolled in with Southern‑rock thunder that would make Lynyrd Skynyrd crack a proud grin. And Viva Tequila Restaurant & Bar swung its doors wide open, hearts even wider, turning the whole place into a desert‑side honky‑tonk with purpose.

It wasn’t just a show — it was a country‑and‑Southern‑rock throwdown for a cause, a night where twang met grit, community met rhythm, and Vegas proved once again it knows how to show up when it counts. For the Las Vegas High School & Jr High Rodeo Team.

For that, Vegas tips its hat to each and every one of you!

Y'all flat-out tore it up!

Sweet Home Alabama Brings Their Brand Of Southern Rock To The Viva Tequila This Thursday Night For A Cause Worth Saddlin’ Up For!

This Thursday, July 16th, 5–9 pm, Henderson is about to shake the dust off its boots.

At Viva Tequila Restaurant & Bar, the Southern Rock engines are firing up as Sweet Home Alabama rolls in to turn a regular Thursday into a denim‑and‑leather, boots‑on‑the‑floor throwdown. Slip into your blue jeans, lace up those stompers, and bring an appetite big enough to match the riffs—because the kitchen’s cranking, the drinks are flowing, and the dance floor is begging for a two‑step stampede.

And here’s the kicker: every bite, sip, and boot‑scootin’ shuffle is fueling something bigger. 20% of all restaurant proceeds go straight to the Las Vegas High School & Jr. High Rodeo Team, the young guns who ride hard all across Nevada as part of the National High School Rodeo Association. Donations are welcome too. These kids aren’t just learning the ropes—they’re living them, chasing eight‑second glory across the Silver State with more grit than a desert windstorm!

So, saddle up and mosey on down to the Viva Tequila this Thursday night, eat, drink, and boot scoot the night away, and let Sweet Home Alabama take you into a Southern Rock state of mind while you help give our hometown cowboys and cowgirls a leg up on their next ride. Good food, cold drinks, loud guitars, and a cause worth backing—right here in our own backyard!

Rustic Lounge Open Mic Night: The Jam That Shook Henderson, Nevada July 9th!

 Thursday night hit like a surprise guitar lick, the kind that snaps your head around and reminds you you’re still living and still plugged into the voltage of this wild Las Vegas (And Henderson) music scene!

Click On The Pic to Enlarge

I rolled into the Rustic Lounge in Henderson, Nevada around 6:45 Thursday night, thinking I’d just catch a casual Thursday night jam. Instead, this old rock writer got schooled. The place was buzzing with players, not weekend warriors, not bar‑band autopilots, but real awesome musicians, the kind who show up with fire in their eyes and riffs in their back pockets! The room was stacked with killers, musicians who don’t just play, they burn down the stage. And the setlist? Forget the usual Vegas bar‑band rotation. These rockers were firing off rarely‑heard gems like “What I Like About You”, “Old Time Rock n’ Roll”, and “Ride Sally Ride” — the kind of tunes that make your heart kick like a Harley at a green light!

Then came the genre‑hopping madness, Vegas and Henderson locals showing the packed bar just what they got! Besides the host of Classic Rock favorites. There were R&B burners that slid across the room like neon smoke. Blues cuts dripping with grit, Country stompers that rattled the floorboards, and Metal blasts that punched the ceiling tiles loose!

Every player — guys, gals, veterans, newcomers — stepped onto that stage for one reason: to feel the music and have a good time doing it. No ego. No posing. Just pure, sweaty, joyful noise!

Thursday night, the Rustic Lounge stage turned into a revolving door of Vegas‑powered firepower!

Special guests? More like a mini rock summit.

Local rock legend Les Warner stormed the stage with that unmistakable thunder he’s carried since his days with The Cult — crisp, loud, and locked‑in like a speeding freight train on grease-soaked rails! Right behind him came Rowan Robertson, the guitar prodigy who joined Dio at 17 and still plays like he’s got lightning wired straight into his fingertips and running through his veins!

Satin Steel out of Arizona took the stage- a crew that doesn’t just play rock; they swing it like a sledgehammer. Their riffs hit the room like a wind-blown desert storm blowing in from the east!

Local rocker Dave Bentz didn’t just take the stage — he commanded it, ripping through guitar lines out front like a man born with a fretboard in his hands. With Dezi Lou, Vegas’ own high‑voltage music promoter, running point beside him, the two kept the entire night tight, on time, and rolling like a runaway rock‑star steam engine. And while the music thundered, Carmen Haynes Warner kept the drinks flowing, fueling the crowd and keeping the Rustic Lounge buzzing at full tilt!

The night finally eased off the throttle, but the energy never dipped — the Rustic Lounge felt like it was still humming, still vibrating from every riff, crash, and howl that tore through it. If Thursday proved anything, it’s that the Vegas (And Henderson) music scene is crazy alive, loud, and absolutely unstoppable! And for all those who showed up, played hard, and kept the whole machine running, consider this your salute — you’re the ones who keep the rock‑and‑roll heartbeat pounding in this town! For that, you're all Rock Stars in my book!

My Take, On a personal note.

Last night hit me right in the soul. Uplifting to see, electrifying to hear, and impossible not to feel. That’s what local music is supposed to be — raw energy, real people, and a room full of musicians locked into pure camaraderie!

The vibe was flawless. The music was alive. The whole night at the Rustic Lounge Jam wasn’t just good… it was the blueprint for what a Vegas (Or Henderson) jam night should be! Five stars? Not even close. Let’s call it TEN STARS and still feel like we’re underselling it.

Last night RAWKED!! HARD!!

I'll Be Back!

The First Riff Of Every Show: The Secret Weapon Every Musician Should Be Using!

Click on the pic to enlarge

Today’s blog hits with a little backstage spark. When my friend, Rock Legend Les Warner fired over his gig flyer last night, I didn’t just glance at it — I jumped on it. I blasted out a feature post on my blog, dropped it on Facebook, and let that thing ride straight into the feeds.

And while I was doing all that, it smacked me right in the face just how crucial these flyers really are. They’re not just pretty graphics — they’re the fast‑acting adrenaline shot that gets butts in seats and fans through the door. A sharp flyer is the quickest way to turn a gig announcement into a packed room and a loud night.

It's all about giving the fans the essentials in one quick look.

You want to cover the big three: who’s playing, when it’s happening, and where to show up. So, start with the band or artist name—make it bold and easy to spot. Then drop in the date and time, nice and clear. Finally, pop in the venue details and maybe a ticket link or a QR code if you’ve got it. Keep it simple, punchy, and let that flyer do the talking!

{My Take}

These flyers (Like the one up top) aren’t just promo pieces — they’re the opening riff to every great night of live music. They spark the buzz; they rally the crowd and set the tone long before the first note hits the air!

Keep ’em bold, keep ’em blazing, and keep ’em rolling out like fresh riffs off a hot sizzling amp!

The Rustic Lounge Jam Experience Weekend Kickoff Jams: Every 2nd & 4th Thursday With The Bad Man Of Rock Les Warner

 Today, my wife and I are celebrating our 9th Wedding Anniversary, and I thought it would be nice to catch some music tonight! But after checking out events and social media, the local music scene is taking the night off!

Las Vegas loves its crown: The Entertainment Capital of the World. It’s printed on billboards, shouted in commercials, and baked into the city’s identity. But lately, that title feels like it comes with an asterisk, one that reads: Valid Friday through Sunday only.

Weekends are a guaranteed explosion of sound. Tribute bands, touring acts, casino lounges, local showcases, EDM residencies, cover bands, metal nights, indie nights, all stacked on top of each other like a musical buffet. If you’re a band, a fan, or a venue, the weekend is where the action is!

But then Monday hits. And Tuesday. And Wednesday. And Thursday.

Suddenly, the “Entertainment Capital” starts to feel more like the “See‑You‑Next‑Weekend Capital.”

{My Take}

If we’re going to call this city the Entertainment Capital of the World, then let’s make it a seven‑day reality, not just a weekend slogan. If you know about live music happening Monday through Thursday, the hidden gems, the under‑the‑radar rooms, the bands keeping the early‑week heartbeat alive, drop their event flyer here. (Or email the flyer to me at garyenglandemail@gmail.com). I’ll make sure it gets pushed out across Las Vegas and beyond, because the scene only grows when we grow it together!

I’ll kick things off. If you want a killer jump‑start to your weekend, check out what’s happening on every other Thursday night (2nd & 4th Thursdays) at The Rustic Lounge. Starting this Thursday, June 11th, my good friend Les Warner (From The Cult) and his circle of rock‑and‑roll heavy hitters are bringing their signature jam sessions to Henderson! The kind of raw, BaDDA$$ musicianship only they can deliver. Swing by every other Thursday for live music, good friends, adult beverages that’ll make your body RAWK, and for a vibe that hits you just right. That covers every other Thursday… now let’s fill in those Mondays through Wednesdays and keep this city’s heartbeat going all week long!

Wonderland In The Desert: How Las Vegas Does December And Christmas

 Las Vegas transforms into a dazzling holiday wonderland each December, offering locals and visitors endless ways to celebrate Christmas, from glittering light displays to festive concerts and charitable traditions. Here’s my guide to enjoying the season from now through December 25th.

 Iconic Light Displays

 Holiday Shows & Entertainment

 Family-Friendly Attractions

Spiritual & Community Celebrations

  • Christmas Eve Services: Churches across Las Vegas host candlelight services on December 24, offering a reflective pause amid the city’s glitz.

  • Hanukkah Celebrations (Dec 14–22): Citywide menorah lightings and cultural events highlight Las Vegas’s diverse holiday spirit.

  • Charity Events: Many attractions, like Glittering Lights and Opportunity Village, directly support local nonprofits, making your holiday fun also a way to give back.

Seasonal Indulgences

  • Holiday Cocktails & Dining: Resorts and restaurants roll out themed menus—think peppermint martinis, gingerbread desserts, and prix fixe Christmas dinners.

  • Festive Shopping: The Strip’s malls and Downtown Container Park offer holiday markets, perfect for last-minute gifts.

As far as 1 of "My Favorite Picks" for Christmas Cheer:

One of the most spectacular ways to celebrate Christmas in Las Vegas is to visit the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, “All Aboard the Holiday Bells and Whistles.” Running through January 3, 2026, it’s a must-see centerpiece of the season. Children of all ages (Including moms and dads) love it!

Las Vegas proves that Christmas can be both dazzling and heartfelt. From the grandeur of the Bellagio Conservatory’s Christmas wonderland to the community warmth of Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest, the city offers experiences that blend spectacle with tradition. Whether you’re sipping a peppermint martini on the Strip, driving through millions of lights at the Speedway, or pausing for candlelight services on Christmas Eve, the season here is about connection, joy, and wonder. In true Vegas style, Christmas shines brighter, lasts longer, and leaves memories that sparkle well beyond December 25th.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas month of December!

The World’s Greatest Gathering Of TV And Movie Cars And Stars Is Back: Paul Casey's Car Stars Returns In The Spring 2026!

 {About Las Vegas Car Stars / Paul Casey's Car Stars}

Paul Casey's Car Stars

In a city known for spectacle, few events have blended nostalgia, celebrity, and charity as seamlessly as Paul Casey’s Las Vegas Car Stars. Since its inception in 2009, this annual gathering transformed The Fremont Street Experience into a living museum of pop culture, showcasing iconic vehicles from film and television alongside the stars who made them famous, all while raising funds for children in need.

Founded by entertainment producer Paul Casey, Las Vegas Car Stars began as a passion project to celebrate Hollywood’s most legendary cars, to becoming an event dubbed as “The World’s Greatest Gathering of TV & Movie Cars and Stars In The World.” Its mission extended beyond fandom: proceeds supported special needs children in Southern Nevada, particularly through partnerships with organizations like the Children’s Miracle Network.

Each year, Las Vegas Car Stars featured a jaw-dropping lineup of over 80 vehicles, many of which were instantly recognizable. Like the DeLorean Time Machine from Back to the Future, KITT from Knight Rider, The Batmobile, and the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, among others!

Las Vegas Car Stars hosted a rotating number of Hollywood legends and cult favorites. Past guests included cast members from Back to the Future, including appearances during the 30th anniversary “Back to Vegas” celebration. Stars from The Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, and CHiPs.

At its core, Las Vegas Car Stars is a philanthropic engine. Over the years, the event has raised millions for local charities, focusing on children, veterans, and families in need.

Now over a decade strong, Las Vegas Car Stars had become a fixture in the city’s entertainment calendar. It’s more than a car show; it’s a celebration of storytelling, craftsmanship, and the enduring magic of Hollywood.

In 2020, Las Vegas Car Stars was put on hold. The Pandemic hit the world, prohibiting large gatherings in public places. Later after the pandemic ran its course, rising costs and logistics of presenting an event were cited for a further postponement.

Until today!

This morning, the Water Street District in Henderson, Nevada, roared to life with Paul Casey’s Car Stars event, drawing crowds to a dazzling showcase of over 60 classic cars and trucks. From muscle car legends to vintage Hollywood cruisers, the lineup celebrated decades of automotive and entertainment history. Fans mingled with collectors and tribute performers, soaking in the nostalgic energy while getting an exclusive glimpse into Car Stars 2026 and beyond. Casey teased future expansions, including new celebrity collaborations, rare vehicle unveilings, and deeper charitable partnerships—all signaling that the Car Stars legacy is shifting gears into an even more ambitious and community-driven chapter.

Despite the relocation, the spirit of the event remains intact—celebrating Hollywood’s most beloved vehicles and stars while raising funds for causes like the Children’s Miracle Network and Pawsitive Difference Pet Rescue.

With its engines revving and its vision expanding, Car Stars is proving that the road ahead is paved with legacy, innovation, and heart.

Here's To Paul Casey's Car Stars 2026.

See You Next Year !

Yellow Brick Road And Fans Say Goodbye To Club Madrid Inside Sunset Station Hotel Casino Las Vegas

{July 6th, 2025 - Club Madrid Sunset Station Hotel Casino Las Vegas, Nevada}

"The Final Call"

Just one week after saying an emotional goodbye to Count’s Vamp’d, a cornerstone of Las Vegas rock culture for over a decade. < Blog > Local music lovers gathered once again last night to witness the end of another prominent era in Las Vegas music history. Club Madrid at Sunset Station hosted its final show, closing its doors after years of unforgettable performances and fostering a strong sense of community spirit. The back-to-back farewells mark a turning point for the Vegas live music scene, as longtime fans and musicians alike reflect on the stages that shaped their sound, careers, and friendships. From the gritty energy of Vamp’d to the polished, fan-favorite vibes of Club Madrid, these venues weren’t just places—they were home for many!

 It was the end of an era, and "The Final Call" as billed by Sunset Station, as Yellow Brick Road took the stage for one final performance inside Club Madrid, marking the venue’s emotional closing night. Two full hours of Classic Rock's best as only Yellow Brick Road can do them!

Yellow Brick Road didn't waste much time getting the jam-packed venue in a festive party spirit, with songs that included Rock n Roll Fantasy, Any Way You Want It, Running With The Devil, You Really Got Me, and Two Tickets To Paradise among many others.

Yellow Brick Road Band Members Last Night

Lead Vocals: Kelly Christian

Lead Guitar: Mark Cole

On Bass: David St. John

On Drums: Frank Klepacki

About midway through the night, Brody Dolyniuk, the original voice and founder of YBR, took the stage with the band and performed tunes that put Yellow Brick Road on the Las Vegas Music Scene's map over 25 years ago!

For years, YBR has been a cornerstone of Las Vegas' classic rock scene, delivering powerful renditions of Queen, Bowie, Pink Floyd, and more with unmatched musicianship. The room was packed with longtime fans and friends, many of whom had followed the band since their earliest gigs at the iconic Henderson venue. Cheers turned into tears as the band closed their set, honoring both the music and the memories made within those four walls.

As Club Madrid dims its lights for the last time, Yellow Brick Road gave it the send-off it truly deserved—loud, proud, and unforgettable!
